This is a super fun thread, Carter - thanks for starting it! I think it's neat how people's loved items are both very useful and versatile - and some of them are long lasting - but some of them are "for fun" too!

Oh, I love this exercise! I think I'll have trouble coming up with 10. Let's see:

1. Two by Vince Camuto chartreuse silk shirt (my favorite item right now)
2. Equipment palest pink short sleeve shirt (two years old and going strong)
3. Good & Co huge chiffon graphic print scarf
4. Vince tapered gray wool pants
5. CK tapered black wool pants
6. Sigerson Morrison black Yoko booties--I've worn these constantly for 6 months
7. Truth & Pride black moto--definitely my holy grail moto, worn often
8. Big Star straight leg jeans
9. Stuart Weitzman Poco pointy toe pumps in nude snakeskin
10. Longchamp Le Pliage tote in black

There, that wasn't so bad. All of these items I reach for very often and always make me feel great. Thanks for the exercise!

Well, I took the "right now" part literally, SS 14, and was pleased that I do really have a lot of closet love. A year or two ago this would not have been the case at all either... Woo hoo!

Now, HEWI white jeans. I have three pair. A Levis' 515 bootcut full length, JCrew "high heel" flares.... hemmed for flats! But the flares nice when I am looking for something dramatic and my most fav are a pair of Levis 515 bootcut cut off to mid calf length. I was thinking I wanted white BF's so I was at Old Navy trying some on and though.... there are really sooo much like jeans I already have. So I got home, cut of the one pair of 515's right as the boot area started to flare out (about 7" above the hem) and rolled a few times. Have been my favorites since then. Actually thinking of doing the same to my other pair. I like the Levi material (granted mine are a few years old) so I bet the Levi 505 PSA from Kohls that Beth Ann just posted might be a good place to start.

Love reading everyone's lists. I'm traveling so I don't have pictures but here's my list
1. Burberry quilted cost, with remove able wool liner. Perfect for days that start at 30f and end at 70f
2. My flower power Brahmin bag, holds an iPad and still looks good
3. My red suede metal tip flats (wearing again today)
4. New Kate spade black pointed toes flats, only had them a week, but love, love, love them.
5. BR black and navy blazers. Great for transition weather and summer AC
6 theory black cigarette leg pants, perfect for work and they work with every thing
7. Eileen fisher black ponte knit pants, see comment above
8 turtle pj's I got at NAS last summer. Soft comfortable and appropriate to wear in front of company
9 white cons - it just warmed up enough to start wearing these agsin
10. Gap boyfriend jeans, they fit more like straight legs. 100%cotton, and comfy.

What an interesting thread. I'm having difficulty with my wardrobe right now and thought I might not have 10 items I really like. That's a really negative thought, and I'm so glad I responded because I was wrong! Here 10 items I love.

1. Trina Turk midnight blue rain jacket

2. Purple cashmere Brooks Brothers cable knit crewneck sweater

3. Munro oxfords... or are they sneakers? They are definitely comfortable.

4. Soma panties. I know panties probably don't belong on this list, but you can't imagine how much trouble I had finding panties that fit. I now have 15 pairs and love them.

5. Munro black metallic flats

6. Chico's jeans. I don't like Chico's for anything but jeans. These jeans are straight legged and a little bit looser than I usually wear. I bought them to see if I can adjust to the more fluid look that at least some of us are dreading. The fit in the waist and hips is perfect... not a trace of muffin top. I'm still deciding whether to have the tailor take in the thighs just a bit.

7. Rolex watch in stainless steel with a blue face. This watch has been on my wrist everyday since 1983.

8. Elsa Peretti silver pendant on a black silk cord

9. Large collection of Lands End cotton buttondown shirts, the only brand that fits

10. Pendleton cotton aqua zip front sweater. I usually find Pendleton to be somewhat frumpy, but this sweater is my color and fits perfectly.

Ummlila, I just saw your comment about loving or just wearing something. I actually still love my Patagonia jackets. The nano puff I love for the color (silver) and for its packability. I can stuff it in its pocket and take it in my carryon on a plane or in my backpack in the field in case I need extra warmth. The down jacket is fairly new and a beautiful ice blue color. I don't wear it all the time (we live in the drought part of the world) but when we're out in the field in the cold, it's a luxurious layer under a shell. Last weekend we were up at 3:30 to get to the birds' breeding ground. The birds were active displaying from before dawn until around 9 am. So that was a lot of standing around in the cold and dark, in just a sprinkling of snow. Very very cold. It definitely had the potential to be miserable! But I was toasty in the jacket.

If I were in the polar vortex part of the world, I would probably hate my outerwear too.

Adelfa, I love that a chartreuse silk shirt is your favorite item right now!

Sarah, I about choked on my coffee when I read that you chopped off a favorite pair of jeans! That takes some serious guts (or reckless abandon) in my book. Thank heavens it worked out so well for you. I am looking at the 505s that Beth Ann posted. I wore levis for years and loved them. You're right about the heavier fabric. Maybe that's exactly what I need for white jeans. It drives me nuts to have to cut out the pockets.

Great list, kkards! I've been trying to find a black blazer for the longest time. I'll try the BR.

Catnip, you crack me up. I'm a Soma panty girl too. I can probably match you on numbers there! I also have 2 pair of jeggings from Chico's. I bought them 2 or 3 years ago, and they sat with tags still on for at least a year. Then one day I was very frustrated that the button flap on another pair of jeans was so clearly visible (protruding) through a fitted sweater I wanted to wear untucked. I pulled out a pair of the jeggings just to see, and finally figured out why jeggings were a good idea. I also have a pair of bootcuts from Chico's. The rise is a little high for my taste right now, but I get compliments when I wear them.

JAileen, Pam also has one of those Patagonia jackets that she adores. Almost makes me wish I had a compelling reason to buy one!
