@Sal minimal romantic sounds on the right path! need to think

@Sal thank you! I'm going to wear it to bits, I can tell already.

@Sal
Interesting - what makes you think 'soft edge' in my style? Not sure if I see it - reminds me of that WiW I posted in a boxy leather jacket, jeans & combat boots where @rachylou didn't recognise me lol! The 'tight' colours aspect is to make dressing easier - like others have mentioned, just because I like certain clothes doesn't mean they'll look good on me or deserve a spot in my (tiny) wardrobe, lol.

Agreed on Comfy & Covered as defaults for me - I'm just thinking how to encapsulate the results of those (e.g. longer silhouettes, natural fibres) into a style persona. Don't feel like Urban or Practical quite cover it though?

I do think Earthy fits your iteration of sartorial practicality though - even when you're dressed in pink or detailed dresses, there's still something that 'grounds' the outfit (e.g. it doesn't feel too twee or whimsical on you).

It's hard to pick the right words, isn't it?!

@jacquez Great shirt - Gothic Equestrian indeed! Any overlap with the Dark Academia trend, by any chance?

Zaeobi - it was that moto that I recalled. It is hard to pick and I think for some people more may be helpful and for some less may be easier.

My goal is to use them when my clothes feel wrong- and to pin down why.

Sal, thank you for your feedback. I returned to my wardrobe notebook and had earthy and natural included in my style words. I like both of your suggestions.
I am going to think more about this.
Natural minimalistic creative seems to fit more for me.
Way back, I had bombshell. Things have changed. I can't see that fitting for me now.

Sal, your thoughts are super helpful. I'm quoting:

"Ginger- I agree Duchess next door is perfect but the adjectives are a big meaningless. Colourful, retro/playful, polished, glamourous. I think your hair plays a large part in your style and your fantastic up do’s. That adds a bit of glamour and polish. But then you tend to wear cottons and practical fabrics - not overly embellished. There an ease but I don’t think casual is the right word?"

You put your finger on it. I'm polished but casual, glamorous but practical. "Playful" is a good word, too. I like clothes and outfits that make me smile with the fun/quirkiness of them. I did a lot of brainstorming with the help of a thesaurus so I could go on, but I think I should start my own thread.

@Sal Good strategy - sometimes I find it's easier to identify what's *not* working in an outfit/ not your moniker, then build on that.
