YO (Your Opinion): Green pleather jeggings

Not real leather, of course, but looking to replace my cheapo black pleather F21 skinnies that are disintegrating and bagged out and not the best fit. These are a dark green, which I thought might tone down the leather look factor. I know skinnies are not the thing at the moment, but I do love wearing mine with tunics and jackets still...

Also. any experience with this brand (Blank)? TIA!

I think skinnies will be a classic. So I'm a yay. I have no experience with this brand other than knowing the name.

I'm not familiar with the brand, but these look like they could be a good replacement for you. They don't look green to me in the photo, although I like the idea of a dark green.

They do not look green to me, either. I have heard of Blank NYC but not just Blank. Not sure how they'll play out in real life . . . I've never done pleather myself.

Will pleather stretch a bit and form to you like leather? I am not familiar with the material. If you got a ton of use out of the pleather skinnies, have you considered upgrading to real leather? You would rock leather skinnies!

I have considered it, Thistle! My main issue is how much leather stretches - my leather pencil skirt is now shaped like my sitting butt! I'm worried about knee baggage and how you ever get leather back to its original shape. Can't just chuck it in the dryer and shrink it, sadly.

I wonder if anyone knows more about that.

My leather leggings took about two to three years to bag out a bit. I remember reading somewhere about attacking the spots with a hair dryer. I haven't done that yet.

Like the color and zip detail. You comfortable in pleather? I find it bothersome. If pleather doesn't make you want to pass out, I say try 'em!

I say yay. I think I mentioned on another thread, too, that leather skinnies have been rock n roll chic since forever. It's an iconic look to my eye, even after the current looks/trends die out. Punk, metal, glam/GNR, Bono... can always fall back on those references IMO.

I definitely think they are worth a try. My only consideration, and I wear pleather, is how they will feel. Being fitted I guess you just need to make sure you are comfy and don't feel too hot or restricted.

I say go for it, I like dark green that looks like black. I like wearing skinnines with sweaters and jackets, and I hope the look stays around for a long time!

Ok I was picturing a lot more green, and a bit scared, but these are so dark they look black. I like the seams, they're similar to the seams on the BCBG ones I just got. And the triangle seam at the waist is very nice. I'd say they look like a good replacement to me! You already know you will wear them too.

Another yes, I have a dark green moto and really like how the green color plays down the leather. So my thumbs are up for green!

Thank you, ladies - a pair is on the way! I'd like them to fit the way Raisin's fit her (skinny but not skin-tight) so we'll see how they work out, and if dark green can work its way into my closet. Will post pics when they arrive!

I like them a lot! And knowing pleather is not what it used to be (a sweating device), I say go for it. You would look terrific in them, and I think they might fill a hole in your wardrobe.

I have a poison eye for pleather. And naugahyde. Unless it's one of those funny animals they made for them.

But you clearly like them, so...

I am late here, but wanted to say that I think that (p)leather skinnies are a classic in my eye as well. As long as Uou think they are going to be comfortable on terms of breath ability, I would go for them.
