This beautiful photo of fiery autumn leaves reflected in water immediately made me think of my Comrags skirt with asymmetric pleating. In the closeup photo you can see the leaf print.

The skirt is more golden brown and copper, so for the red element I added a silk sash. My beads represent the vertical white lines of the birch trunks; they, too, echo the fiery theme.

My garden lends me the greens of the photo, and you can't see it here, but I am also wearing emerald stud earrings.

Bella, thank you so much for this challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

(Oh, by the way, I am NOT wearing this today but saving for an evening!)

I hope to go back and make more comments on yesterday's fabulous outfits. Wow! Everyone's interpretations blow me away. Thank you for this challenge, Bella.
Suz, I love your interpretation. That skirt is the perfect piece. I can almost smell the autumn leaves.
Kari, you look radiant! I especially like today's outfit. That skirt is killer on you.
Bella, you are channeling MaryK with your colorful outfit. You wear color well.
This was my favorite photo but the most difficult when it came to finding something to represent it. The photo evokes feelings of deep serenity and beauty. This little sack dress gives me the same vibes as the colors on this side (it's reversible) are deeply pleasing to me. They are a bit deeper than in my picture. I usually wear a tomato red cardi with this but chose a navy one today to represent a deep pool of water. The silver sandals are a nod to the white birch trunks in the photo.
This outfit also surrenders the waist as one might surrender to the natural surroundings of the scene.

Colorblocking again! Because I apparently am not that big on colorful prints. I count the silver hardware for the touches of white in the photo.

Suz, I think you will remember this challenge every time you get to wear this wonderful skirt! If you wear it out and are anywhere near a reflecting pond you know what to do...stop, snap, and post :).

Bella, I am so impressed that you managed to incorporate every colour! Your cobalt jeans are lovely and your nail polish looks fun.

Kari, short hair suits you! I love the beads with the teal top, you wear deep, rich colours beautifully.

Joy, I can feel myself chilling as I read; my shoulders are dropping and I am saying a deep 'arhhhhh" as I succumb to your melodic description. I adore your silver sandals, too.

here is my take. I based the outfit around the watercolour scarf and the green skirt. The cobalt had me stuck until I remembered this birthday necklace. I didn't realize I had a wardbrobe gap for a red jacket and a cobalt bag until now :).

Bella, this has been SO much fun; thank-you for organizing! Let's do it again soon, girls.

This picture makes me long for fall! Where we Iive now, we don't get these gorgeous-colored leaves. I thoroughly enjoy seeing them in this photograph!

For me, I again went the color route - this orange-red blouse with cognac-colored shoes; my jade cuff and antique gold "leaf" earrings as a nod to the trees' leaves.

Although I wasn't able to participate every day, I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge - thanks, Bella!

In contrast to yesterday's photo, today's is very serene, peaceful, and organic even though it is just as colorful. To convey that peaceful feeling, I put together a pretty simple outfit consisting of dark colors topped by a swirly, multicolored handknit shawl. Trying to mix any other bright colors or patterns with the shawl would, I think, be overkill, and would destroy the peaceful feeling. The swirly pattern and drape of the shawl reflect the ripples in the water and soft, flowing lines of the trees' reflection. The dark jeans and black top suggest the dark blue and black colors behind the trees and the light cuffs of the jeans convey the feeling of the light streaks of sky.

Here's my outfit. Took inspiration from the saturated colors, including white element in top print, black element in belt, wore jeans skirt since it's Friday; also the reason I could get away with leather flip flops. Comments and looking at others' posts later. Busy at work.

I am loving all of the beautiful colors that have come out to play today! Deep jewel tones are my favorites. =)

Bella: Love the green and cobalt together, and they really love you back too.

Kari: The teal blouse + plum skirt combo is two of my most favorite colors in the world. I think I need to get the Halogen skirt in that color....

This was my favorite of the photos but the one for which I had the hardest time making an outfit. I exaggerate only slightly when I say I tried almost every single thing in my closet! When I went to bed last night I'd decided on my AT Loft watercolor print dress, but wasn't very happy about it for a number of reasons, chief among which was the absence of that beautiful green color in the print.

This morning I woke up and took another look at the photo, and this time I tried to concentrate on the photo as a whole. It hit me that it was pretty much "green on top, pink on the bottom." So I pulled out my Halogen fever pink skirt, and then on a whim I pulled out its friend the Trina Turk plaid blazer, which I hadn't even considered because I'd been focused on the watercolory aspect of the photo.

Lo and behold, the colors in the plaid are close to the colors in the photo! And it even has a vertical white stripe in it to refer to the white tree trunks. I decided on a white blouse (shiny trim also a nod to the silver birches) and nude shoes to keep the focus on the "green on top, pink on the bottom" theme of the main pieces. My green bag is for the big spot of green in the upper left center of the photo.

Since the outfit ended up being pretty linear and structured, I left my hair largely curly and RATE as a nod to the organicity of the shapes in the photo.

Whew! That was a close one!

This one was easy.

I have a scarf.
I call it Michelle scarf.

I saw it across the store and it reminded me of Michelle's beautiful fit-and-flare dress with watercolor style pattern. I loved the colors very much. So, I bought it. It's the only scarf in my huge collection with abstract motif.

So, when I saw the final selection for this challenge, all I wanted to do is create as neutral outfit as possible so the scarf can shine on its own.

Luckily for me, I had two outfits to crete today.

(1) Casual one for running errands.
(2) Dressier one for going out tonight at a local pizzeria.
(3) I managed to tie the scarf like this for (2), but have to work on recreating it.
(4) The scarf and two bracelets used for the finishing touches in two outfits.

It's the last day of the Style Olympics and it is time for the Oscar speech:

I would like to thank our producer and director Bella whose vision brought us together.

I would also like to thank my fellow cast members who made this adventure so joyful and fun. The wealth and depth of interpretations were nothing short of impressive. It's an understatement to say your creativity is inspiring. I really feel privileged to be a part of this community!

To all the critics who commented, thank you too! Thank you for your encouragement, wit, insights and time taken to check in on our performances. You were discovering layer after layer of not just our choices, but personalities behind them.

Last but not least, I would like to thank my family for the admirable patience and not rolling their eyes when I took ages to edit the photos or select next day's costumes, instead or preparing dinners, doing the laundry or reading not three, but just one bed-time story.
*pass me the tissue please*

And in true olympic spirit, my favorite aspect, after 5 days of sheer fun, is simply taking part in the event. To think that dotted around the globe were other beautiful and intelligent women all throwing themselves into this game and having fun is both humbling and overwhelming. I loved every second of this challenge and - I know you think the same - can't wait for the next one

I finally get to participate. On my monitor some of the leaves read as a deep pink so I wore my hot pink skinnies. The fluoro yellow and grey striped tops the other colors and the horizontal lines as ripples. Marni white sandal represent the birch trunks. My purple cuff with the silver clip representing vertical sections.

@Suz, you HAVE saved the best for the last!! I had been drawn to the red sash from just glancing at the image thumbnails and am completely at awe. Amazing. Would you ever put these together without the challenge I wonder? The skirt is equally amazing and this is by far my favorite outfit of yours this week.

@bella, what a striking cardigan. We played a lot with blue-green combination in the previous challenge and I love seeing it in action again, especially because this is such a brilliant summer edition of it. (Quickly, lock it, MaryK will snatch it.)

@Kari, hard to pick a favorite here. The green blouse is new to me and I hope to see a lot more of it. The skirt is fabtastic!

what a fun week this has been. It has forced me to explore some new combinations. Thanks Bella for organizing this!

Here is my submission for the day.

I thought my new $12 silk blouse was the best representation of the colors and the water colorish vibe of the picture. I chose my white jeans just because and added the pearls to represent the white lines of the picture. I tried my pink flowy vest thing, but I looked like a bowl of rainbow sherbert ice cream, so chose to add some edge with the denim vest, which represents absolutely nothing in the picture, but atleast I can leave the house in confidence.

QM, the whole "I need to actually leave the house" thing kind of stunts one's creativity sometimes, doesn't it? LOL I love your look -- you look cool in every sense of the word! I thought for sure we would see EVERYBODY with long pearls for the white vertical lines in the photo, and I'm surprised to see that you are the first! Great job!

That skirt is the single most expensive item I own. I bought it for the launch of my book three years ago, and it still works. I don't wear it often—three or four times a year at most—but even so, it has earned its keep in the wardrobe. Ornella, you are right. If not for this challenge I would NEVER have thought to pair it with a red sash. I have paired it with a purplish mauve belt, believe it or not, and it seemed to work. And with the more expected brown belt. The sash definitely added a pop!
