I'm a bit late to the party, but I'm so glad you're getting these (at least that's the impression I have). I don't see "clown feet" at all, and I think the trouble you're having adjusting to the look is because you're so used to heeled, dressier boots, and that the look of these is just a bit different than you're used to. I can't see anything more perfect for casual wear than these are on you! Definitely keep, and if there's any 'slouch' anywhere, then that's part of the look and it looks great for casual wear, as far as I'm concerned.

Rae I think these are great and I'm glad that you ordered them! I have matching skinny ankles and high arches to you (but also a high instep, boo) and you know... casual flat boots just won't be snug on the ankle, especially in this style. They don't make your ankles look excessively large or anything, it's not like your calves go straight down into your feet And slouchier boots work even better in this regard. For the arches, I find that if there's sufficient cushioning, a flat boot seems to work better than a flat shoe because my whole foot is wrapped and supported. That could be related to my instep though, but hopefully this will be the case for you since they're actually narrow enough for you. I hope they fit the bill!
