Would you lovely Fabbers like to help me find a black blazer? Now I have my black blazer from my skirt suit but it is a very classic, basic blazer. Love it. But I would like to also add to my wardrobe an edgier black blazer/jacket. My needs in this jacket include:

Available in petite sizing
Fully lined
Not too thick or heavy (not boucle or heavy wool)
Lighter weight if possible but not summer fabric like linen
An edgier detail such as mixed media, zippers, angular shape - something that sets it apart from a typical black blazer
Able to work with both pants and skirts
Not drapey - a more crisp sensibility
Would also consider a dark charcoal grey

Any suggestions my wise friends?

On another note, would love suggestions for skinny white jeans for fall/winter that I can tuck into boots. Yes Angie - you have TOTALLY converted me into a white jeans lover, even in winter

And Ummlila and I both have this one. I am not sure if it does come in petite, though. But I like this jacket especially with a tube skirt or sheath.

I was also going to suggest the AT tuxedo blazer, Shannon. (you could be triplets with DebbieK - who looks fantastic in the petite version - and me;-)

Oh Angie - I LOVE THAT JACKET!!! I adore the lower stance button and the leather detailing. And Ann Taylor ships to Canada for a very reasonable price So Angie, Inge and DebbieK (if you see this) - how is the sizing on this jacket. Would you say TTS? I saw one review that indicated a bit on the small side.

Suz and Una - your choices are beautiful but sadly neither are available in petite.

Dashielle - thanks for the Kut Mia recommendation - how do you find the fit?

WHOA....holy crap! Their shipping might be reasonable but the duties/taxes add $62.93 to the cost of the jacket. And if it doesn't fit, I don't get any of that back plus have to pay return shipping...gotta think on that. It's the Nordstrom issue all over again

Shannon, don't know if you've tried any Kut skinnies, but I'm a 10 in trousers in general or ~29 (Joes and Gap) in most skinnies and a 4 in Kut Mia or Diana! My biggest fit issue is that I have muscular thighs and calves so skinnies aren't skinny on my knees and ankles. Kuts are my best fit.

I don't have links or finds for you for petites, Shannon, but stylewise, have you considered one of the recent moto-jacket cuts in a knit? Helmut Lang, Bb Dakota and Vince all have them in regular misses sizes, which you could google (or shopbop) for inspiration. I think in a dark grey or black, the leaner lined ones could absolutely work for either a more formal ("blazer") or business casual environment. And on a petite frame, the minimal ornamentation and doodads on a knit jacket (vs a leather) will not overwhelm your frame. Let us know what you end up with!
