WIW with Statement Necklace

Hi Ladies,

Over the last 12 months I have developed a love of statement jewellery. It seems a great way to lift my favoured all black looks and create a bit of variety.

Wore this yesterday to work. You have seen each of these items before except for the Necklace.

Dress is about 5 years old and Jacket from last year. Boots are this season and I have
worn them so much. Necklace is poly clay, handmade in Melbourne.

I love that necklace. It truly is a statement piece.

I do not know if the eclipse next Monday will affect where you live, but I think the entire outfit and especially the necklace would be nice to wear for the occasion.

The necklace is a real statement, and so very well chosen: colors and which bookend your hair and soften the all black- the petal shapes are feminine, the scale and blurry pattern is so modern, just your/my way! YLF!

Gorgeous. As a non jewelry wearer I guess I never registered that you didn't wear it, especially because the boldness of your style makes your outfits look so complete.

Yes, definitely a statement, and it looks so good with this outfit. Do you find your statement necklaces are very versatile? Or do you find you need quite specific outfits for them? Just curious, because this one seems to go so well with this outfit.

Thanks Elizabeth. The necklace was a gift and I would never have chosen the yellow for me but I really like it. I think sometimes others see the potential in things that we don't.

Isabel thank you. I have always worn jewelry but kept it really simple but have always loved larger more statement pieces. As my clothing has become more minimal I think I subconsciously realised the opportunity for more statement type accessories.

Firecracker, without sounding like I'm off with the pixies lol, I am pretty intuitive in my dressing. I think I do find them reasonably versatile probably because my wardrobe is so neutral. I find that I just reach for things without too much thought. This particular piece works with black, grey or white really nicely so that in itself provides a variety of options for wear.

Great necklace - i love your response to firecracker because having watched you iver the years you have worked hard to create a wardrobe that allows you to dress intuitively. Every piece if your wardrobe has a place and function.

Frannie, thank you. Thats a lovely compliment and yes that is what I have worked toward. For me having a cohesive wardrobe with a strong signature has made dressing very easy x
