I love the shoes. And the shirt. And the idea. But may I voice dissent... I don't think these jeans are the best... it has to do with something around the hips and derrière... can't tell what... I am convinced that you can find a same length pair that better compliments your lovely silhouette.
(Now I go hide!)

Uh oh, I think I feel some inspiration coming on! I see what you mean about the length... I actually have a pair like that that I never wear even though I love them! Somehow you have made this length look cute because of those shoes. I think it may be working as well now that the cuts of jeans are all over the place right now. At any rate, they look cute for spring, and I think I may even dare to do the same...if I can find the right shoes!

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone and for the shoe love. I bought these during a visit to Seattle to see a college roommate. We both bought them and I love them (although they were not a great choice for mall shopping yesterday, to be honest).

Angie: I'm so excited to hear that I looked fashion-forward (that never happens) and also that these will be trending in the fall. So they will have more longevity than I thought.

Krishnidoux: I hear you that these are not as flattering in the hip and butt areas. Not my strongest regions, to tell the truth: straight and blocky.

AndiB, KKards, Kat: I'll be interested in your reaction to the slimmer
JCrew cropped jeans that I have coming. I tried them in the store
yesterday and I love them. They are much slimmer and conventionally
flattering but have the same longer cropped length. For those of us who are pro-longer I think they're great.

Jackie: I LOVE the Marty McFly reference. I have a not-so-secret love for geek fashion (I definitely have this gene in my tomboy style).

Aquamarine: These do have a flare at the bottom, which is what makes them really different (and different from those you posted, Anna).

Gorgeous Viva, I visited your post twice, trying to decide if I like the crops or not. Hmmm. You know when your eye expects one thing and sees another? I'm left basically undecided about the silhouette, but I wanted to say that if I saw you in the mall, I would know that you had carefully chosen the silhouette, and I would have thought you looked great --- playing with fashion well, not being a fashion victim, if that makes sense.

I like 'em!

I call this style "golf pants"... 'cuz everybody wants to know what I call stuff

Viva, it's not you, it's the jeans: I say this because I have jeans that do exactly what these are doing. And I assure you that it's the cut, not your hips, which are very lovely and that you should not be afraid to flaunt.
