WIW tube skirt, button down and chunky heels

My new striped tube skirt and white button down from Laura Ashley are out to play! Very happy with these pieces

Added hose for warmth and then the chunky heeled loafers.

The shoes are from the 1990's and I used to live in them. I haven't parted with them because they are soo comfy, but do they read as dated or are they saved by the New outfit?

The square toe is probably not on trend, but I've seen quite a lot of chunky heels. And I actually like the lines and kind of masculine or grungy vibe

What do you ladies think?

ETA: should the skirt be tapered or is it ok like this?

The skirt and button down look great. I do think the shoes look dated - not so horribly dated that it brings down the whole outfit, which I really like, but yes dated and they don't "elevate" the outfit either if that makes sense. Hope you don't mind my saying so!

I love the skirt and button down. I think the shoes are ok, but I think they do need updating. The toe is just a little too square to fit into current trends. But they certainly aren't horrible...I like the idea of a chunky loafer for you!

The skirt is beautiful, and I like it with the blouse. The shoes look a little dated to me, but I think you would look great in a loafer or oxford with rounded/pointy toes.

Gorgeous skirt, I like the subtle stripes. I also prefer if the shoes were an oxford or a loafer, something that would still be comfy, but are a little more "on trend" than these.

I think the skirt is perfect as is. I like it with the shirt.
The shoes remind me too much of some I had in the 90's also. Maybe you need to update them.

Still, I wonder if square toes ever will be trendy again...

Anyway, I need to put aside the shoes in a hesitation box - just to get them out of sight. I realize I'm very attached to them. Makes me wonder why

I have the same issue with shoes and I finally chucked some square toes.
But the slip-on style is on trend , you could try some slipper flats or roam through various loafer styles and find a toebox that is not so square, more almond, but still roomy enough to be comfortable. I found I can't tell just by looking at photos, or even picking them up, which ones will feel great vs. feel like rocks.

Loving the outfit! crisp, but easygoing, and very flattering.

The shoes? They do say 90's. I have a couple of snip toed (modified square) booties that are just a couple of years old, but even they're bothering me now. These have given you lots of good days. Put 'em in the holding pile and see how you feel in a month or so.
