Whew. So much for a consistent summer! Yesterday it was POURING down rain and thundering, and today it's alternately overcast and sunny but REALLY humid, and I'm not too confident that the drizzles will entirely stay away.

And we have a company picnic to attend at a farm that is "luau themed."

My compromise was to wear a very brightly patterned Nine West fan print dress, which I've been meaning to bring out more often. I layered it with ankle length (but light) leggings; my jeans are not fitting well and I *hate* dragging wet denim through the damp, and my legs would be too cold in my Bermuda shorts. It doesn't look like it will rain, but the grass might be a bit damp. While I could wear flats, I'd rather wear slightly elevated wedge sandals that will allow moisture on my feet/shoes to dry, rather than uncomfortably trapping the damp inside and making me squash around in wet feet. I'm bringing along my denim jacket and an umbrella just in case, though.

So, I guess I'm ready to hula! Bring on the mai-tais.

(And please, bring back my summer! It had hardly began...)
