WIW: spring vibes and q. About proportions

Dear Fabbers,
I’m excited to break out my new white jeans! Want to wear them every day! Every day!

Pic 1: lilac and dots. I have to be in a certain mood to wear this.

Pic 2: Successful high rise outfit

Pic 3: Not sure about proportions here. Jacket too short?

Pic 4: same jacket (same brand and size as pic 3) but with lilac shirt peaking out the bottom. Is this better, proportion-wise?

Pic 5: I scooched up the jacket to make it a cropped look. Is this better?

I get confused dressing my lower half/hip zone.

I LOVE #1. I think the colours and proportions are great. I haven't had breakfast/coffee yet, so I don't have anything insightful to say about proportions, but my eye is definitely most drawn to the longer blazer, rather than the cropped jackets. I think #4 is my second fave -- the detailing on the pants is really cool, and lilac is a super colour on you.

#2 and#3 are my favourites but the only one I m not keen on is #5 I don’t think that the proportions are quite right for you in this one ,otherwise all lovely and very nice ,new jeans.

Smittie - my favorites are 1 and 2. I prefer proportions of 3 and 4 over 5, but I’m not great on proportions of others, so would trust Angie’s take here.

#2 and #3 are my KILLER faves because they lengthen the leg line and shorten the torso. High rises are very good at that when you expose them. Jacket not too short in that outfit

Proportions in #4 work well. Not better - just different.

#5 - my least favourite proportions. Jacket too short. No more scooching....

Your white jeans are great! I think my eye hasn't entirely adjusted to the high rise yet, because #1 and #4 are my favorites...just the opposite of Angie.

Jenn- I guess there is a fine line between your own judgements about what good proportions are and what is trendy.

Delurked - I’m not sure about proportions either. I sometimes think proportions are my least well-understood concept.

I much prefer #3 to ##4 and 5. #3 is much cleaner looking and more flattering with fewer horizontal lines in it. This jacket is the perfect length for high rise jeans. Lucky you - I wish I looked as good in white high rise jeans with the top tucked in as you are in #2. Wear it for me please!

Smittie - I feel like I can intuitively figure it out in my own mirror, but I’m definitely not great at giving advice about the topic.

Delurked- true. With camera angles getting in the way, it’s a bit hard to really see what’s going on.

YLF. I like 2, 3, 1 and 4, in that order. The jacket does look a little short in 5 - that more cropped length might be better with an A-line skirt or culottes. I really like your colour palette, especially in 1.

#2 and #3 are leg lengthening and pretty conventionally flattering (definitely work well). #1 and #4 also both work, a little less conventionally flattering (tucking the top in #1 would skew more conventional and my hunch is a longer jacket in #4 would do the same, but again both still work well). Is the jacket in #5 the same as in #3? If so I think its normal length works perfectly with the jeans already; I like the idea of maybe popping a loooong topper over that outfit instead of the jean jacket for a very different sorta look while still keeping the high-rise proportions since the top is shorter.

All of these looks are really good, well done :). I like how you casualise the outfits by pairing them with funky sneaks. Makes you look fresh and fun. My personal favourite is number one- I love that spotted blazer and lilac...I'd be curious to see how the blazer looks with various tops under it. hmmm blazer lab??

Brooklyn, now that I take a step back, yes the jean jacket in 5 is not good. Too cropped.

Jussie—yes, a blazer lab would be good. I have a few options—for instance, lower cut v-necks which aren’t great on me but maybe with the structure of blazer, they’d look ok.

Aida, I like the idea of a long topper but long cardigans typically don’t work on me because of smallish sloped shoulders. Maybe some sort of vest or gilet. It’s something to think about.
I do think above-the-knee lengths work well on me.
