Morning, friends!

I am having one of those weeks where what I planned to wear didn't work and so half of my closet is extricated to find something somewhat appropriate. Happiness factor is in the negatives as a result.

I am not sure about this outfit and I think it's the waterfall cardi. The picture doesn't show how much bulk is actually in the front and it kind of makes me feel like I'm going to fly away. Also... The belt. It was on sale for $2.99 and as a result it was hard to resist. Yet I am not sure it's "me".

Any thoughts on why I may not be feeling the love for this outfit? Any and all feedback welcome!

I had that exact cardi for a while, and I finally purged it because it just didn't seem to work -- it is cut so that it is really kind of heavy (and I generally LOVE waterfall cardis, so it isn't that I don't like them)

I love that top on you, and the leopard pants are way cool, and the shoes are awesome.

What is it you don't like about it? The black cardi and trousers look a bit stark and plain against that lovely warm fuchsia to my eye, but I really don't get on with black so I may be a bit partisan.

Ceit, I am so glad that you know what I'm talking about with this cardi!! I will be honest that I had it in the purge bin but took it out again thinking I could give it another chance. Maybe a purge is its true destiny!

Molly - thanks for the suggestion re the black. That could also be it - especially with the bulk in the front of the cardi! Too heavy.

I like what I see! But you have to wear the outfit, and if the cardi feels too bulky, pass it on.

It looks fine from this angle (both cardi and belt), but you need to feel good in it. That's the most important thing.

I like it in the photo. The texture of the pants is so much fun.

It's a strange cardi -- the fabric is a really fine weave and you'd think it would flow nicely, but there is something in how it is cut it kind of stacks in a weird way and ends up with two heavy lumps at the front, instead of a steady grade of ruffles/overlap to the ends. I wanted to love the cardi, but it just was too annoying.

I think the outfit is cute, and you look beautiful! But I also see what you mean. Your outfit doesn't quite live up to the mischief I see in your expression I see this outfit on many, many well-dressed women, and they always look lovely - but it can become a uniform of sorts.

And I get the feeling that while you know this is a great look for you, you are maybe a little tired of it? And looking for something that felt fresher, or had more 'pop' for you. So I don't know. Maybe make it a little more rock-and-roll by changing the accessories or the shoes? Or change that cardi out for a leather jacket.

I think the overall look is quite nice and I love the texture of the pants and definitely love the boots! But it sounds like you are just not feeling happy with the cardi so maybe it's time to pass it on?

The only thing that matters if it feels right to you. You gave it one last shot and it still doesn't feel right... Time to purge!

I don't love my waterfall cardi's anymore either unless they stop at my hips. There was just too much length and volume and it does feel odd. I like what I see but I know what it feels like to wear it -- it feels like a blanket. You still look great but I know you want to feel as good as you look. I say pass.

Krista, I love the outfit! The pants have a pattern yes? Of course you have to wear the cardigan but I do like the waterfal, drapey cardigans and this is a very streamlined and 'clean' look. The belt looks good. I would certainly notice you (for all the right reasons) if you were to walk past me in the street.

Thanks pil and Deb! Pil, I will take the belt out again - I got comfortable with it as the day passed. Deb, the cardigan has to go, but I do hope we have a chance to meet in the street one day! xo
