Just had to say this title cracked me up. I am from Texas and it's a big deal here.

#1, 7, 8 & 9 are amazing improvements (esp 7-9). I have to fave this thread. It's just the complete "styling illustrated." The biergarten waitress Madame Alexander doll vibe is totally gone.

Ohmigosh. I have to stop being so lazy and totally do a big tryout session, like Angie says you have to.

So cool, Laura! I really like the skirt without any of the button downs. For shapes, I like #6 the absolute best, and would love to see the skirt with a white tee like that and a denim jacket. I think that would be totally fab on you. I also like #7 and #9, too! Great job trying things on with your skirt. It's got lots of possibilities; I'm so glad it won't become an orphan.

Still chuckling at "biergarten waitress Madame Alexander doll vibe." Okay, I'm cracking up. I think I had one of those dolls with one of those biergarten skirts. It was yellow and black if I remember correctly. That's the funniest thing I've heard all week.

I like #5 as well (which, as a hardcore member of Team Unbelted, is how I'd wear it on myself), but also agree with 7/9 with the belt in #3.

I like revision #9 the best. You could even tuck the top in more (when I do this, I put my half-slip over the tucked- in part of the shirt to smooth over the extra fabric and hold the shirt in place). I think sleeveless or short sleeved fitted black tops are your best options with this skirt. BTW, this happens to me all the time, planning an outfit in my head and then needing to restyle for real life. I love how the forum members help with this!
