Lisa and Jay: So funny about the track pants and sneaker comments! I'm not sure my friends always get my fashion either. They're more conservative and less into current trends ... but oh well, it's the price we pay, I guess.
Marley, I did roll one more time. Mostly, because, as I started walking around town, the pants gave a bit and sat lower on my hips. They definitely have some slouch. So the extra roll was needed for this look. (I look forward to wearing them full length, Aida, with my Okalas.)
Suz, it was a "summer catchup" meeting, so we chatted briefly about 3 books: "Five Days at Memorial" about Hurricane Katrina (I did not read this but would like to), "The Signature of All Things" (read it and had mixed feelings), and "A Tale for the Time Being" (am reading it now and loving it).
Jackie: I have not settled on black slip-ons but was looking at the croc SEs yesterday. I'm wondering if I should wait and put my money into the silver loafers I am also eyeing. I've been spending Austere August in tortured conversation with myself about various purchases. I hate these no-buy months.
