WIW - it's been awhile.

I haven't had a chance to post in awhile, so I'm worried I may be getting rusty. Here are some transitional looks, a mix of casual and more dressy. Please be honest with your opinions! I'm here to learn.

#1 - featuring a new Gap tee.
#2 - I felt pretty good in my new Gap sweater (*waving* at sweater twin citygirl). I was so pleased to find that my old Levi bootcuts are PPL with cons!
#3 - I felt kind of bad-a** in this with my bare legs, even tho it's dressy
#4 - featuring my target boys gingham! (thanks, Rita)
#5 - BLAH - this one doesn't seem to be working very well. suggestions?
#6/7 - variations on a casual formula - what do you think?

*squee!* I'm so happy to see your fab outfits, sarah! I've missed your style! Do not fear, you have not lost your edge. You look amazing these days! 1 is classic you--love everything about it. My faves are 2,6, and 7. The striped pullover over the buttoned up button down is so playful and fun--the turned up sleeves and sneaks are just perfect! I feel the same way about 6 and 7--fun pattern mixing and great use of color. Love the penny loafers too--what a great color! #4 is fun and looks very MaryK : ) #5: I think you need a less casual jacket with that outfit or change out the bottoms to skinnies with boots or something. I don't think it's bad at all but a bit on the "blah" side when it is in the company of your other fab outfits!

LOL--you DO look like you could kick some booty in those CH boots sans hosiery. You are a rebel!

Not too rusty I don't think. I like them all except 5. I wouldn't mess with you in 3. 5 seems like it should work, but if I'm honest it's not. Is it the color? the Proportion? Maybe the boxy jacket over the full untucked blouse and fuller pants? I think the top part would be great with a pencil skirt (like the Halogen dark denim one Angie posted last week) or slimmer bottoms like Kellygirl said.
The casual formulas are nice too - LOVE the mustard loafers!!.

Sarah it is so good to see you:) And you are not rusty in the slightest.

#1 is absolutely fab. Love the 't'. Great look.
#2 I want that sweater... the color is great on you.
#3 Lovely
#4 Looks very stylishly casual but would be work appropriate?
#5/6/7 are all great casual looks but I would be inclined to tuck the shirt for #5.

This collection of WIWs is great! Great colors on the new t-shirt in #1 and sweater in #2, love #3 and #6 . In #5, the color seems a bit "weak". Maybe you need a bolder color for the jacket?

Well I gave up on picking a favorite as I clicked through. So I will agree that #5 is my least favorite. Maybe lighter shoes and color near your face?

Pff what rust?? Looking great Sarah! You've got some really fabulous color palettes going on in these outfits. Love seeing you in the lighter footwear. For #5, swap the black shoes out for something light! Fab loafers, I should get mine out too!

Sarah, you are as stylish as ever! These are all great outfits -every one of them including #5! The skirt looks great with the bare legs....I'll have to remember to try that look if we ever get another cool day this spring. It was in the 80's today! I'd say more but I am breaking in my iPad and trying to get used to touch typing.

These are all great but I'm completely smitten with #1, #2 and #3! Absolutely fantastic. Believe me Sarah - you are NOT rusty!

I think with #5 the only issue is the volume or shape of the top; as Deborah says, maybe tucking it would have done the trick. Or maybe you are just starting to enjoy the sight of yourself in brights and strong graphic stripes more than soft mid-tone colours and less strong pattern?

Kelly, jj, Deborah, Makrame, Shevia, thanks for the ideas for 5. I've worn this shirt in a lot of different ways, and I was trying to mix things up a bit, and you've given me some additional things to try.

Yes, Aida and Mona, I'm gradually adding to my lighter shoe collection ; ). It's interesting that I have black shoes from last season that I didn't even wear this year, because I no longer knew how! Well, I never knew in the first place, I just didn't know I didn't know : ). Can't wait to see your loafers in action, Aida.

Sarah you are too cute! Love seeing some bare leg on you! These are all so stellar I can't pick a favorite. White jeans with #5 might be kinda fun. I'm feeling like being more colorful myself lately so IKWYM! Awesome Cons and jeans PPL!

Ah, Kelly - the JCrews. Honestly, those white Kuts did not do me any favors, even though I have two other pair in other colors (including the ones in 6/7). I had to size up in the JCrews in white, but I think they're good. I hope so, because I cut the tags and have cut them off ready for hemming without even getting the YLF stamp of approval!

Fun to see your WIW, sarah! I don't think you're looking rusty, you're looking fab!

I have to skip reading any other comments, but there are lots of great ideas I'm sure.(maybe I'll get to them tomorrow), but I had one thought that might make you happier with #5 - use those fabulous loafers from #6 in the #5 outfit! I think #5 might be just TOO neutral for you right now. . . (is this an indication of how far you've come in your style journey?!)

My fave is #3 - I love the casual, confidence it exudes! I hope you wore it for teaching

I do not detect any rust anywhere. I love all of these. I love the layering, the pattern mixing, the stripes, the shirts buttoned all the way up, the colors...you are just looking fab to the max! I do agree with you about 5: I wonder if it's a teeny bit more "butch" than your usual style, with the bootcuts and the denim jacket, coupled with the shirt collar out/sleeves cuffed? Just a thought...
