WIW - casual for dress challenge week

I had my post op doctor appt today so I was up and out early... and subsequently crashed for a nap as soon as we got home! So I'm glad I got a quick snap of my outfit before then, even though it's not terribly exciting.

Wearing dresses is an easy call this week since not many pants are comfortable to me yet. I wore this old favorite today which I've had for years and even altered last year after I lost weight. It was raining this morning so I threw on my old semi-military inspired cropped jacket (Levi's) and carried my new-ish bright blue satchel. Shoes are not visible in the pic so I took a separate snap of them -- my old copper Cole Hahn flat sandals that are slightly worse for the wear after an unplanned long walk through a Texas ranch field. They're still somewhat presentable, I think, even though the finish has never been the same since.

Added my rose gold and mint bracelet and white watchband. Am seriously considering buying a rose gold watch now that there are so many fab ones available.

This is a pretty low effort outfit with an old dress you've probably seen before, and I'm only 12 days post-op so I'm not exactly aiming for the stars sartorially, but I still welcome suggestions and comments!

Ok.....LOVE the combination of that military-ish jacket over that dress. Is this the first time you've tried that combination? 'cause it's FANTASTIC! Love the sci fi pops too.

Thanks!! The appt went well. I am healing nicely! Still need to take it easy. In another week I can start swimming (gently) again! Still another month before returning to running.

I don't understand how I could weigh three pounds more today than I did before the surgery, but I guess my body is doing all kinds of weird things right now.

You look great Janet - love that jacket with the dress. So you can probably relate to my wardrobe hassles and trouble with shoes based on your Texas experience. That's the kind of terrain I have to live with most days - even if I'm going into town it seems there is always a field to cross, gravel drive, mud pit, etc. along the way.

Wow Janet! What a beautiful outfit - and you look gorgeous. I love the blue mixed with the green - it really softens up the look of the green military-style jacket and also keeps the dress from going into "sweet" territory! Also, love your toe polish and sandals - a great combo!

Sveta, no running yet -- another month before that! I am walking a couple of miles at a time now, working my way up daily, and I get to start swimming again next week. Today I get to drive!

Pil, the puggies have been so wonderful. They even seem to know not to try to jump on my lap, although I usually have a fluffy pillow in the way when I'm sitting in vulnerable territory. See pic for my most loyal little snuggle companion.

Shannon, no, I'd never put together this jacket and dress before, but I like it too! Usually I wear my faded blue denim jacket or my white denim jacket with it.
