I like them all- but particularly like 5. The structure of the shirt, extra drama added by the popped collar and your hair’s natural texture elevated this outfit for me.
That TZR article you referenced had some interesting perspectives. I am thinking that achieving this look is not so much high-low, as it is having really good textures or shapes. That's why the crisp structure of the while top is working so well in your last photo.
These all look great but I especially like #5. You have impeccable style and I can appreciate where you're going here. I agree with Lisa that the fit and proportions are perfect and have a lot to do with why these work! I am taking notes!
I don't think a 3rd piece is always needed (being from a climate that a 3rd piece is too hot most of the year). I do agree though that having texture, interesting shape, or some interesting detail makes a big difference in looking intentional. I like #5 most too on you.
More admiration for these, especially 1 and 5. I think you could wear them all the time and look fab, but I understand the boredom. I also agree that a third piece makes the minimalism less simple. Easier for me than jewelry since I am very minimal with jewelry.
Aflac, you have inspired me to make August a minimal month. Today I am wearing black and white print wide caprices with a white top and black crochet topper for making cards with friends and playing with grandkids. I will pull out the black hot weather things and wear them now into fall. The navy gets cleaned and stored. In September I will gradually add more fall colors in summer weights and move to more browns as neutrals.
