I am a jacket-phile even though I can't wear them much during the work day. Cooler weather revs up my tweedy genes and need for warmth.

Here is a RL herringbone wool blazer I found at TJMaxx. It's kind of an unusual color blend for me--I call it "blonde" colors because I think of blondes wearing blends of taupe and blue and cream, and I wear almost no blue (except jeans). But it "reads" as medium brown, which is now closer to my hair color since I have acquired more...ahem...silvery tones there. Also reads a little mossy green, which is not bad for me.

The jacket looks more modern with slimmer-fitting jeans or longer-hemmed pants with some heel, but for work I'm likely to wear it with straighter-cut trouser type pants and not much heel. So while I could use it only for smart casual, I won't get to wear it as much unless I can use it going to and fro to work as well. It seems a good fit and is oh-so cozy.

Also, I show it buttoned but probably tend to leave most jackets unbuttoned. I like a one-button, low-stance jacket better than 2-3 button, but there you go.

I have it here with monotone taupey-browns which work okay, but could pull out more color. I'd wear a teal knit top if I had one--have kept eyes out for moderately priced one, since I'm not trying to integrate a lot of that color in my wardrobe--and can wear lighter taupes or certain cream/beiges that are not SSB.

#2 shows fabric detail with a silk scarf I've had for years, with deep purple/mint/cream/tan colors.

Do you think it works or would be too frumpy?
