Now those are a stylish take on the original, Donna!

Interesting. I was looking for some chukka boots last year or the year before but never got any. I worry about the sole being slippery in icy weather. I feel like Europe is usually ahead of US style-wise so I would guess it's coming here.

I haven't noticed them here, but most days haven't been cold enough for boots. Most people are still wearing sandals and sneakers.

These are called "veld schoenen" (field shoes). Vellies, for short. South African through and through. A forever staple in the country. I don't see it any other way!

Seen them online mostly but maybe it’s too early yet, not cold enough here. I would wear them, I bet my feet would appreciate soft and unstructured shoes.

I love them, I have always loved them, Hush Puppies carries them in a very tempting fuchsia at the moment, and I have never owned a pair! And might never! I think those crepe soles are no good on ice, which is basically what my sidewalk is for much of the cold weather months, so it's an admiring pass from me.

I’ve been eying some of those, seam raised and not raised , because of toes not being happy in more tapered styles, either typical tapered almond toe or when top of shoe flattens down to meet front seam. Plus suede. Thinking of a substitute for sneakers that have those problems.
The desert tan is classic but too golden for my wardrobe so have been thinking of slightly darker colors.
Or, looking for some kind of hybrid.
