Order the teal in your size! No contest! Your expression says it all!

I was going to vote for the camel but not so much because of color, but because of fit. The camel looks more expensive, because camel has that understated luxe thing going on. Also, I am totally obsessed with camel as my new favorite neutral. I am adding so much camel to my wardrobe this year. So, you should note my bias.

In real light, if you feel the teal is a better color for you, go with that. It certainly will brighten a cloudy day and can make you and others feel more cheerful. Still, I really like the camel!

And -- the swing coat style is not dated looking to me.

+1 for teal. It really suits you. And it doesn't look too small, but you'll need space for extra layers come February.

I think that swing-back style is one of those shapes that really never dates. Sure, it comes and goes in fashion terms, but it never looks completely "wrong". I say GFI.

I see that you love colour. And if that's the case, Teal is the one for you. I love the design of the coat too.....very classic. And it may actually look quite different when you wear it in the right size. Right now, in these pics, it doesnt look it's best because it's quite big on you.

Teal, all the way! Camel is also good, but teal is better, and think they wanted to sell you what they had:-).Love tan, and camel for bookending my hair or skin, but have aversion to camel in big doses, like a coat!-it really sucks me out.

Thanks, Angie, for piping in with a sore arm. At least it was "teal" not a long color name like "aubergine!"

Adelfa: Love the bold way you use your neutrals!

Thanks to those who stood up for camel, when the tide was trending the other way. It's easy not to comment when a thread is moving the other direction! Denise: luxe camel is made for you!

This post makes me muse over high color wardrobes in general. Why do I love color, but then feel insecure wearing it? Hmmmm.

Now, just to torture you more, CocoLion makes a point that relates to one of the Dress for Success book tips. Always evaluate color in light of the fabrication and even clothing item and style, and see if there is a " best" rendition. This works when you have several options for your own color choice. His example was, if you find a resonantly priced suit in gray, navy and black, see which one " reads" most ...(insert) expensive, well- made, appropriate .. as not all give the same vibe. So sometimes it's the gray or camel wool coat that looks high- end,, or sometimes a gray comes across as casual or blendy, and a rich red looks more luxurious.
I've certainly used that approach with clothing before and it was mentioned in the context of choosing faux leather for Maneera.

Since you are soliciting opposing opinions, camel with a berry scarf and burgundy gloves would look fab on you. I also think camel and jeans looks a little better than teal and jeans.

I'm late here, but I'm on Team Teal for you. it sounds like you moved to a cold climate so a swing is ideal as it has more versatility over sweaters. I'm also looking for a swing and am carrying along my bulkier sweaters to try underneath for sizing.

Late to the thread, but I vote teal because of your smile trying it on, it being in your preferred colour family, and its winter-brightening properties.

Unfrumped: Yes! Exactly! I do think the handpicking on the seams gives the coat a traditionally tailored look, and that leans toward the camel. On the other hand, if I don't "believe" in the flattering properties of camel, I might question myself every time I wear it! Which kind of goes with the questioning of one's self that happens after a big move (and job shift) anyway. In fairness, the camel is photographing better than the teal -- the teal is a complex and pleasing shade.

Aliona: The move from Chicago to Indianapolis should hopefully make my winter just a bit shorter (fingers crossed)! Still the Great Lakes region, though, so one must be prepared! And you've hit on the reason I chose not to size down (as many reviewers did) on this coat: I wanted a roomy coat even with sweaters and jackets, and I wanted the coat to really "swing."

Smittie: Oh yes, and I already have burgundy scarves. I also have teal gloves and hat!

Get both I guess the budget doesn't support duplication in coats, though, does it?!

I think your expressions in the photos say it all. In the teal photo you are grinning from ear to ear--it really made you shine. Not so much in the camel--your expression was much more serious. I vote teal! Any color that makes you smile like that should be in your closet!!!

I like both too, but always go with an item that makes me smile
