I've learned in the last year that when weather is extreme, I want to wear the comfiest possible, simplest possible activewear. Rather than fight it, I'm trying to embrace, and bring my 'classic polished casual' style to these pieces.
Saying that to contextualize this little shopping spree - I have comfy tops and tanks for for summer but was lacking in activewear bottoms for 30c+ weather. Ended up purchasing a black skort (which I've worn twice and I only bought in Saturday ha), a dark teal active-fabric romper, and white terry shorts. In my travels I also came across a few pieces for my non-gear wardrobe - a black pair of braided sandals, a braided cognac belt, and a pretty blue puffed-but-not-too-puffed sleeve tee that I've been eyeing for a while.
This was a BUDGET spree, ringing in at well under $200 for the 6 items - Walmart (shoes), Reitmans (romper and belt) and Joe Fresh (the rest). That said, it is still more than I would normally go out and buy in one day! But I think these are all essentials and/or potential workhorse items, and nothing that will date quickly. The one piece I am not totally convinced on is the romper, so that may get returned - it was the most expensive (though not very) of the lot too, so it will have to pass a tough inspection! (I may do a K/R later). I went in looking for a matching set of biker shorts and tank, but they didn't have my size, so I pivoted - or did I settle? TBD!!
Anyways, that's my June shopping spree documented! Any thoughts or feedback is very welcome!
