Hello, I'm Valeria, 46, having trouble defining my current occupation, I guess semi-retired. I am a classic pear shape, love my upper body but challenged in legs department. I think I have Clear Winter coloring, at least those are the colors that bring me joy.

We recently moved from France to Portugal, I absolutely love living here but stylewise am lost. All I know how to do well - corporate minimalism and off-duty drama - are completely irrelevant now.
I am trying to stear away from jeans and button down combo, and try to bring in more skirts and dresses. Also, somehow I feel the need to cover up a bit more. I used to love to bear some skin, but now that my daughters are teenagers I suddenly want to be more demure.
So I am adapting slowly, learning how to do casual.
On a bright side - I am 5' 4", when we lived in US it was a bit of on a petit side, american brands are usually too long for me in the torso, but here I am perfectly average hight, all clothes fit well.
Another fantastic thing - great bright light all the time, and also something is always at bloom, lots of color - so I can wear fucsia head to toe and it looks perfectly in place.

Hi I'm Rachel and live in New Zealand. I have been lurking for a long-time and first stumbled on YLF back in 2011 and then probably have been reading regularly for the last 3 years or so.
I spend a lot of time over analysing my wardrobe and think my husband and friends are getting a bit sick of it so figured I should join to discuss with others who might actually enjoy the discussion!

Hi rachelnz, we never get sick of discussing our wardrobes so you will fit right in! Welcome!

Hi, I'm incir. I live in New England and work as a middle school teacher. I'm trying to refresh my style post-young kids now that I'm in my 40s. I look forward to seeing everyone's style!

Hi, I’m a crazy cat lady who has long-haired cats and spends most of her time removing cat hair from her clothes. I do a lot of exercise and walk everywhere so somehow always seem to end up in leggings. Time to up my game!

Hi. I’m ETG from the UK. My life is casual and active. I work from home, walk most places, and my hobbies are home-based (reading, gardening) and running, so I’m usually in some combination of jeans, trainers, Lycra. I love clothes, but a combination of lifestyle and a tendency towards minimalism mean I don’t need or want to do much shopping. That doesn’t mean I don’t spend hours browsing clothes online and planning the perfect wardrobe!

I live in the Pacific Northwest.  I occasionally make trips to Seattle and actually saw Angie once from a distance at the Seattle Nordstrom store.  I have always loved fashion. One summer during college I traveled in Japan for three months and designed and sewed a four color capsule wardrobe.

I  get the most compliments and look best in high contrast and bright colors of cobalt blue, Kelly green, cherry red, fuchsia, bright turquoise, magenta, and true black and white.

I worked at Nordstrom in the 80's during high school and learned about fabric, quality clothing construction, fit and tailoring. I gravitate towards well constructed items from a variety of brands and designers that work with my personal color and style preferences.

I tend to purchase quality vintage and second hand items online and in person so I can enjoy an item for a time and then pass it on when I am ready for a change or when my closet is too crowded.

I love thrifted vintage jackets and coats. I own 10 thrifted black leather jackets in various brands and styles and also have a "candy store" of bright colored coats and jackets in leather, wool and beyond. I'm drawn to anything classic style similar to Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Chanel to present day iterations of classic style.

I have to confess that I haven't put much priority on fashion or style in a long time. It wasn't easy to accept how my body changed after kids. Some health issues led to unexpected weight loss last year, and trying on clothes and shopping became much more enjoyable. I dress very casual for work in a preschool. However, I have been working in an admin role for a couple of years now, and I want parents to take me seriously in that role. I'd still like to show off my creative side though.

I thought I knew my body type, but my measurements revealed that I was totally off base. I didn't really dress for body type anyway, but I feel like my eyes have been opened for making better choices now. There have been light bulb moments regarding certain things just not looking right or certain things that have been very flattering. I just want to know more and to feel confident in making choices that flatter my strengths.
