I saw Calyx ( agree it was wonderful ) in that outlet store run by Ester Lauder that sells random things from all their cosmetic lines .

Not sure I know about DK’s Chaos but now I want to . I love everything she does .

Yes, Madeline, it was indeed Calandre! Thank you! And I looked it up and see they still do make it, but in a slightly different formulation. I am sure it wouldn't work for me any more. It was always a touch too metallic for me. But I loved its fresh modernity.

I remember I also wore Shalimar briefly...

Fun to think of these again. I think it's time for me to pick a new one.

I like a couple of the Replica scents: Jazz Club, which feels very much a fall/winter fragrance only to me, and Matcha Meditation, which feels more year-round. Years ago I used to wear Philosophy Amazing Grace or Pure Grace but they had absolutely no staying power on me. Looking up the notes, both Matcha Meditation and Pure Grace are bergamot, so I should probably look into other bergamot scents. Apparently I like it on myself!

I love fragrance and have fallen down the rabbit hole before! The way it is created is fascinating.

I don’t wear it much these days because I work from home and scent seems to bother my dog. But I have a little roller ball of YSL Paris Mon amour, for casual summer wear. It’s definitely girly and sweet.

My husband recently bought me a sampler from a British company called Penhaligon. Beautiful stuff, and beautifully packaged too.

Today I am wearing Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy which has quite a fruity and seems to last a long time.
I also like general body sprays too and find the So Fragrance range very nice!!!

Not really a fragrance girl here, I always forget when in a rush, but seems all blondes have the Nr.5 (just didn't use it for some time:-))). I love now beter the Eau Fresh and the Eau Tendre for daywear at least. And, can you believe I now have a bottle of Zara Rose forgot in my car by my DD:-) and love it- so I kept it for myself:-) for a quick and light hint of reinvigorating my senses but this one doesn't last too much of course. Now that I think deeper is really useful to keep a light scent in your car, do you somebody do this?

Lyn that’s actually brilliant!

I’ve noticed that my local Zara has scent and they’re actually quite nice.

I’ve switched from perfume to a body and hair mist from Pacifica called Silver Moon. It’s light, but I often get compliments from people who will say that something smells good but haven’t figured out that it’s me lol

I love fragrance and wear it daily. I am enjoying:
- The One by Dolce and Gabanna
- Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel and
- Eau Dynamisant by Clarins, perfume and body lotion.

The Eau Dynamisant is what I generally wear after an evening shower and to bed - the others I wear during the day or going out.

I used to wear perfume regularly, but that has changed in the past 5 or so years, likely due to the mix of pandemic and other factors. It would be nice to start wearing something again. My approach is to have one signature/day scent that gets worn regularly, and maybe 2-3 additional ones in small bottles for a little switch, usually when going out or similar.
I tend to stick to the signature scent for 5 or more years, until it stops clicking/I wish for a change. I have gone through three major signature scents: Thierry Mugler's Angel, Givenchy's Very Irresistible, and Marc Jacobs's Lola. The first two I grew out of, but Lola got discontinued, otherwise I would have continued to wear it. Since then, I have tried many scents: I would buy one or two small bottles of whatever appealed at Sephora at the time, but it turned out I liked well nothing enough for it to become a new signature. I have tried several Jo Malone's, Stella McCartney's signature, etc. Maybe it is a time for a new attempt.

Like Angie I wear only one and have for years - D&G Light Blue. I love scent but have family members who are sensitive to scent. Light Blue has never bothered them. I get compliments regularly.

Fragrance can give me a terrible headache so I stopped wearing it. It could be fun for special occasions though, as long as I keep it light and away from my head. It is fun to get an occasional whiff of a pretty scent.

I’m super sensitive to fragrance. Right now my mother is doing a coconut lotion - not even a perfume - that is killing me. She’s making me sneeze and telling me I’m mean because she has to stand 25 ft from me, lol.

That said, I do like citrusy scents if no petroleum base…

I remember my son's middle school begging the boys weekly to kindly refrain from coming to school in clouds of Axe body spray.

I suppose at my own middle school it would have been "Girls, please, no Love's Baby Soft", but in 1976 no one cared about others' chemical sensitivities.

Ah , Love’s Baby Soft . The good old days .

I *love* perfume (way more than I love makeup) but I'm down to wearing it occasionally rather than daily. Somehow, since the pandemic, personal fragrance has started to feel a bit overbearing in some situations. I mostly opt for sample sizes because I'm restless and need to switch things up.

I vary my fragrances seasonally. As much as I like the idea of a "signature" scent, I've never found one that feels right to wear year-round. I love green/grassy and rose scents in the warmer weather (currently Diptyque Philosykos and Phleur Ameline), and wood/resin for colder weather (current rotation is Le Labo Santal 33 and Diptyque Tam Dao). I went off spicy scents over the past couple years; I loved BPAL Morocco for a long time and then started finding it a bit too heavy/sweet. I used it up, along with a sample of Replica's By the Fireplace, over the holidays. I have a "beachy" scent too -- Lucy B's Water Lotus and Musk -- that I really love during the summer, but I'm doling it out very slowly, as that line seems to have been discontinued.

Gryffin, I've been eying HenryRose too! It looks like a fun line to try.

I used to enjoy something clean and powdery or light and citrusy but have not worn fragrance in ages. Back then I wore Chanel No. 5 or two different oils, a lemon and grapefruit, I bought in Paris. They were in the tiniest bottles, and I still have them.

Sitting in the dentist’s office now, and a woman just walked in wearing a lot of something. I have a sensitive nose and am tempted to quietly step outside while I wait. When it comes to scent, I think applying with a light touch is considerate.

I looove perfume and I have a lot of it.

My most signature fragrances are Dans Tes Bras and L'Eau D'hiver, both Frederic Malle.

I got a sample size of Henry Rose Queens and Monsters and am enjoying that a lot lately. That and Hermes Elixir de Merveilles are kind of warm for winter.

I am scenting my home with Byredo Bibliotheque and Bomboneria in Barcelona candles these days.

Used love Calix but felt like the composition has changed and doesn't feel the same anymore.
Jo Malone Earl Grey and cucumber is still the favorite ( have others from same brand but always come back to the old fav ). I do have trouble switching off fragrances in general and still prefer a bare noticeable smell instead of heavy ones.

I *should* use the fragrances I have, but often forget. I use essential oils- sandalwood/vanilla, sandalwood/rose, rose, jasmine, and crystalized sandalwood. I'm also drawn to citron but just have as lotion.

Such a great thread! I love fragrance but my usage dropped off during the pandemic, along with wearing much jewelry. I suspect fragrance has fallen in the category of "extra stuff" for me.

Anyway, this thread made me look at my collection and a gem that I'd forgotten about--Comme De Garcon Black Pepper--a warm fragrance with peppery notes and warm wood. I think it's unisex. Another favorite is Histoires de Parfum 1899, another warm toned, almost tobacco fragrance. Like you, I love a smaller sized bottle or rollerball, it's impossible to use a full bottle up while it's fresh if you have lots of choices.

Would love a recommendation for a fresh summer fragrance that isn't too sweet and floral!

Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian deserves every ounce of the hype it gets. It's an absolute fortune but so, so lovely. Smells incredible and truly like nothing else on the market.

If you want to sample but can't find it available near you, I have an unconventional suggestion: go on the website and order a bottle of scented bubbles for $20 (yes, like bubbles from when you were a kid -- I have the "cold mint"). They let you request a few perfume samples to be included in your order. Worth it, plus you end up with a fun bottle of bubbles! A surprisingly perfect mid-day pick-me-up.

Hmm.. I don’t really wear fragrances much anymore, I used to like Tresor from Lancôme back in the day. Now the only fragrance I wear is from my deodorant, I just don’t want anything to compete with it.

Suz, I used to wear Calandre also.
I love green scents. Now that I am retired, I can enjoy my fragrances again. My work really prohibited wearing any.
Currently wearing Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’eau when I am alone (strong vegetal/ rose fragrance) and Fleur dePeau when I’m
out and about (more of a floral skin scent). I am enjoying everyone’s posts.

I stopped wearing fragrance as it is a problem for some, but this reminds me that I can wear it on “at home all day” days. Thanks!

I've been trying to find a scent that I just cannot live without - a signature of sorts. But while I was a true child of the '80s and wore Obsession, then later Anais Anais, I went without fragrance for a very long time. I've lately been experimenting with Tom Ford and Dior fragrances. I adore a rose fragrance and am struggling between Rose de Chine and Rose Prick (tending toward the latter, which is unfortunate becaus eI purchased a bottle of the former!). But I also appreciate White Suede, Oud Wood, Tobacco Vanille (around the holidays), and Santal Blush. My favorite Dior is Oud Ispahan.

I definitely trend toward unisex fragrances. I find that I kind of don't mind a variety now, although I'm still searching for that one I can't live without. Dh is very unhelpful, as he claims he cannot tell I even have them on half the time and when he can smell them, he thinks they're all "nice."

This is so much fun to read and see what everyone is doing with fragrance ! I’m motivated to find something new to wear and look forward to a trip to Sephora soon .

Jonesy I tried the Dries van Noten sampler but didn’t love anything enough to order big. I wanted to like Fleur du Mal but it was insufficiently naughty. I probably liked Voodoo Chile the best but the name is appropriative or maybe disrespectful, even if I did think at first that they meant a type of magically hot pepper.

Wearing fragrance (or not) can be a very hot button issue. As someone who gets migraines with certain perfumes, I am certainly aware of not wanting to cause someone else to suffer, yet I feel more put together when I wear fragrance. Fortunately my skin chemistry is such that many fragrances fade quickly on me, so I hope that my " smelly cloud" is not too widely dispersed.
I first started to wear perfume regularly when I began to work forty years ago, in order to have a refuge from the all too pervasive hospital smells that I encountered regularly. Wouldn't dare do that now.....wonder how the staff cope now?
