AJ, I always think about footwear first, but for a brown hat I won't be able to match, it'll just have to go with everything: burgundy, saffron, and platinum for sandals, and black and natural/off-white (might replace these soon, and will consider a light brown) for shoes.
Anyway, the lighter colour is on order! It doesn't have to be worlds different than my other sunhat, they won't steal wears from each other.
I'm not worried about it being too wind resistant; for being out on the water or up on a ridgeline, I have a ridiculously ugly Sunday Afternoons hat, the kind with a cape in the back and a chin strap. This one is just for casual gardening/strolling around use. Someday maybe I'll even be able to put its "packable" claim to the test, but no city trips on the horizon for who knows how long...
Rachylou -- I know what you mean about a black sunhat seeming elegant, somehow. If the tan one works out, I have my eye on another Wallaroo style in black or navy. But I'll give this one a season's trial run first.
