Which shoes for a rainy Spring day?

Today it has rained again! but the temperature is mild. This morning I realized that I have not a pair of proper shoes for wet Spring. I ended up wearing a pair of dressy black patent moccasins but I would prefer a light-colored shoe for Spring.
Which shoes do you wear on a wet Spring day? I bet 90% of you will answer sneakers ....

Depending on temperature? Colder, rubber boots to the knee. Warm? Sandals that are water friendly. I have three pairs, including the Birkenstock EVA style.
Waterproof sneakers are in my future!

My lifestyle doesn't require me to be outside much when the weather is bad so really just my normal shoes. But definitely something closed toe - I hate wet feet

I live in a wet city. My shoes are waterproofed with spray, or made of weatherproof leather.

YES to fashion sneakers

Or golf oxfords and loafers. On a cold Spring day - boots, or wellies.

I would wear most of my shoes really! In Seattle we are VERY practiced with walking in the rain.

I’ve been searching for an answer to this myself. Last year I wore leather loafers and got caught in a rain. Loafers got wet and leather (surprisingly not a good quality from well known to me, brand) got wrinkled. Basically, these loafers are write off to me. Since then I bought leather sneakers for the wet weather but would love something not sporty.

I'm afraid you're right about sneakers! I would probably fall back on my Ecco high tops which are quite sleek, and look less sporty. The tricky part is warmer weather AND wet conditions! Depending on the temperature, I might wear my white Sorels, which have held up to all kinds of weather. But my choices would definitely be limited.

I have these waterproof Blondo shoes. We rarely have rain, but I do go other places sometimes.

I'd probably wear my silver leather sneakers in warm (ish) light rain. I don't know how they would fare in a complete downpour, but the last pair I had (by the same maker) got through such storms in Ontario looking only a little the worse for it. I had sprayed them with waterproofing.

My other option would be a flatform oxford that I have sprayed with waterproofing.

I might also wear a loafer but those are very hard for me to fit.

Where I live, (near Angie, actually) it rarely rains at all in summer. However, it rains a LOT in late autumn, all winter, and early spring. So most of my weather proof shoes are boots/ booties.

I have to say that where I live rain is not too frequent neither too strong but to go to work I walk for about one kilometer on battered sidewalks that fill with puddles as soon as it rains. I think a good idea would be a moccasin in a Spring color and with a high rubber sole - something similar to Jaileen's Blondo shoes.

For really wet and puddley days I wear waterproof sneakers. For just light rain I find patent leather really holds up (it’s fairly water resistant). I’ve got a couple of navy flats & added a nice pair white this spring

We also get a lot of rain - it does vary year to year.

I don't commute to work on foot or public transport so I am mostly in the rain for a walk (where I wear my gear sneakers and accept they get wet). If I knew I would have a walk (more than hopping from the car to the workplace etc) I would likely choose leather sneakers or maybe boots. My rainboots are only garden appropriate (or sports sideline). These two pairs of boots are not very spring like but both good on rainy days, the navy are six years old, thicker leather, and I don't mind if they get a bit damaged in the rain any more.

Usually wet means cold so boots of some sort, but otherwise I think I would wear closed shoes with good traction.

Platforms or flatforms preferably with lug soles or Dansko Pro clogs because the soles are nonslip. For me, puddles and slick walkways are a bigger issue than rain coming down.

Depends on the temperature! Below 50, booties (generally my waterproof Blondos). 50-60 sandal booties. 60+ sandals. I don't care about wet feet, if it's not cold out!
