Which of these to wear for a talk today? ETA more photos.

I am giving a talk at a small college (student-invited guest talk). I am guessing that the faculty probably dress fairly informally most of the time. Which of these would you prefer? I would like to look respectful but not stuffy.

Was able to add one more photo - colorful top with a knit black jacket.

ETA a photo of the jacket and shirt in #1 - the jacket has polka dots, the shirts has a bird pattern - hopefully that's not too busy.

I like a jacket for this occasion, so 1 or 2. I'm leaning toward 1 because the blue is so attractive on you.

I vote for #1. I like to wear a jacket for talks. #2 looks too formal, like a full suit. I like the mismatched suit style of #1 best. I think #3 would probably be fine too - I personally just like to have a jacket as it makes me feel put together.

Thanks! I also prefer a jacket for these kinds of situations. This jacket has a polka dot pattern and the shirt has a bird pattern - hopefully that is not too much.

As a graduate of a small college with lots of student-sponsored stuff, I vote for 1 or 4. I have a slight leaning towards 4, because I like how that shirt doesn't have a collar (for this situation), but the prints on 1 are fun too.

I like the pattern mix. I think the patterns are subtle enough to be interesting and fun but not so in your face as to draw attention away from your talk.

I like #4 best. The length of the jacket and the print and neckline of the shirt feel like an effortless, professional-but-not-stuffy look.

#1 is good too. I agree with CC- I might like to see how you looked with a semi-tuck or a full tuck.

I like the idea of a semi-tuck but maybe not for a talk - too many people may take it for an unintentional wardrobe malfunction, I am afraid.

Did you decide already? I think #4 is the smartest outfit. #2 is the next most professional. For a talk, although it's a casual top, I do like the red the best.

Thanks rachylou! I was getting in my car (wearing outfit #1) when I saw your post. I like #4 as well - it is one of my favorites for presentations.

I was glad I ended up wearing #1 because I was in a fairly hot office for a while before going to give the talk and was able to take the jacket off (the top in #4 is sleeveless so I cannot remove the jacket).

The talk went well - the students asked really good questions, too. Thanks everyone for your help!
