What a fun thread. Jenni NZ, the song I know by Anne Murray is Snowbird but I am sure there are others. I see the resemblance between Suz and Anne Murray but also between Suz and Annie Lennox.
I did prefer Princess Diana style in her later years.

I do like being told I look like Meryl Streep.

This is reminding me of a segment from the old Rosie O'Donnell talk show. Rosie would wander the audience singing

Who do ya look like
Who do ya look like
Tell me, who do ya look like

Also, for fun, check out this thread from 8 years ago.

What a fun topic. I always got Ann Curry from the Today Show. Just a slight resemblance.

Well! I'm sure glad I checked back in this morning

I do see the resemblance, Sal. I always loved Diana.

When I was young (20's or so), I was told that I looked like Natalie Wood. Then in my 40's it was Stockard Channing (West Wing) pictured.

Now that I'm in my late 50's.....hmmmm....no one comes to mind.

April, I am so glad you found that thread . I was pretty much about to type the same post, now I don't have to.

I can absolutely see the resemblance, Sal. And how fun that you dressed up like her!-)

Suz - I don't know if you watch Scandinavian crime series, but there's an actress in The Bridge (original Scandinavian version, not the US remake), Sarah Boberg, who plays Lillian (the inspector in charge of one of the teams), and she definitely reminds me of you. Especially when she wears her hair in a pixie. She wore several outfits on the show that I could see you lean to as well.

Great thread! I’ve been told I look like Bonnie Hunt and Laura Dern.

Stylefan, I do think you look more like Laura Dern than I do!

Virginia Woolf. Although I suppose with short hair the resemblance is not as strong...

ETA, perhaps I look more like her sister, Vanessa Bell (pic 4). Not a famous though. (-;

When I was younger, LOTS of people told me I looked like Molly RIngwald, but I never saw the resemblance. As I've gotten older, my hair is MUCH darker than hers ever was. I cannot think of any famous person I look like. Remember the facial measuring/recognition ap from ages ago where you put in a photo of yourself and it would tell you who you looked like? Yeah, it told me I looked like Mao (Tse Tung). : /

I look like Cher, except my hair was a bit lighter (bleached it back then). Same face shape, similar noses, eyes (her brows are fuller - I plucked mine). I even have her build.Still a resemblance today, but not as much when I was younger. It is evident she has had some work done.

Tina Fey. Which leads to the inevitable Sarah Palin conversation...

But I'll take the resemblance - smart, funny, confident!

Thanks all for your great replies!! I can totally see some of these and had a giggle at the old thread - Maya seemed like a hoot!!!

Resemblances are funny things - my sons often get confused for each other although they are quite different. Do I look like my sister or not?

It is also interesting seeing how you can look similar to someone and then age differently.

I will take a look back through - honestly with one or two photos I could believe that our forum member was the famous person.

How useful is this - not sure!! Diana is a Kibbe Flamboyant Natural, probably an IT shape. Her lifestyle was different to mine - dressy suits and ball gowns were features of her wardrobe. Like me she could look hemmed in by her hair and early frilly collars did her no favours. Columns of colour and long lines were great on her as were flat shoes. Diana looked best when she was fit and healthy , not when she was very thin.

I will come back to this thread. Thanks for joining in!!

Wow, there are a lot of doppelgangers on this thread!

I have been told Kate Middleton (maybe I'm her in 10 years IF her beauty staff all quit lol!) and when I was younger, weirdly, I got Jenny Garth a lot (her brunette counterpart, I guess). I'll let others decide whether these opinions are accurate!

Sal - you also look a lot like Sophie Wessex!

I want to be compared to Virginia Woolf, too!!

All I've heard is Sally Field and Ann Margret, both of which I find not quite right.

Fun!

I’ve mostly heard Kristin Scott Thomas — although Gretchen, I also heard Tina Fey when my hair was longer and dark and my glasses were dark.

I think haircut is a major piece of this - obviously not the only thing, but especially when one’s hair is short, it easily drives comparisons (deserved or not).

Gretchen, I’ve gotten the Sarah Palin/Tina Fey remark before. Only happened when I was wearing my glasses, and it was before I had the hairstyle I have now.

So fun! I agree with so many of these assessments.
I’ve been compared to Sara Gilbert.

I cannot remember anyone ever telling me I looked like a famous person. Apparently I look like myself.

One person asked me who I would pick to play me in a movie about my life. I picked Reese Witherspoon. You know, you, but better looking/Hollywooded. We are about the same age and height, with heart-shaped faces and blonde hair. At 43, I still get called cute...and I am okay with it. Like Reese, I say ya'll. I love a good dress or skirt.

LOL I knew I should have married a Prince!! Yes I can see Sophie Wessex a bit too.

Years ago got several Clara Bow comparisons when I wore a short bob.
Then I got a few random actresses and a musician but the last decade it’s been Kelli Williams, from the show The Practice.

*That has changed as of this week though because my hair/scalp have suffered from health stuff & 30 years of coloring, so I gave myself a peach fuzz buzz to treat my scalp and let my mix of white/dark brown/silvery hair grow out healthy and natural. I’ll decide sometime next year if I wanna recolor it!

As I pointed out on the 8-year thread, people told me I looked like Paul McCartney. Guess I should update by finding a current photo of him.

Fun game!
I have been compared to Monica Belucci. By a make up artist who did my make up and pointed out that the way I did it myself was not very goood and I should “go more Monica Belucci” because there is some resemblance in our appearance. It really cracked me up

Hollywooded - wins internet word of the day . And Paul McCartney almost made me choke and require CPR.

When I was in my twenties, I was sometimes told I looked like Winona Ryder. Now that I'm older, I don't see as much resemblance. My face has also been compared with Audrey Hepburn's, but I'm definitely not as tall!

I re read this thread and laughed and laughed! Love the comments.

We certainly have some doppelgangers.

Right before the 2008 election, and when my hair was long, I was told by 2 different people that I looked like Ann Coulter. I am shuddering just typing this. (I can't even post comparison pictures. Just can't. But looking at Ann Coulter's high school picture on Wikipedia, I can sort of see it at age 18...shudder).

And I was once told I looked like Celine Dion, about at the same time.

I've been told most often in the past that I looked like Sheryl Crow. That one I am good with!

No one has ever mentioned that I looked like someone else. However, I once went on a blind date in a touristy area, and there was all this whispering behind us. Turns out the guy I was on a date with was being mistaken for Woody Allen. I didn't really see it, but it happened to him a lot. And to clarify, my date was MUCH younger.

I don't remember ever being compared to anyone, although lots of people say I look like "someone they went to high school with." I'm getting kind of tired of that comparison, actually.

I take that back, my mother once said I looked a little like Cheryl Campbell, who played Eric Liddell's sister Jennie in Chariots of Fire. But I'm not sure if that was facial features or coloring.

Sal, you do resemble Diana--I agree with what Suz wrote. Definitely a lot of resemblances here, and I wouldn't have thought of them. I see Ally Sheedy/Janet, Sissy Spacek/Carla, Monica Belucci/Katerina, Sharon Stone/lisap, Kristen Scott Thomas or Tina Fey/Vivian, Sara Gilbert/Smittie, Paul M/MsMaven (lol!), Whitney Houston/nuancedream, Angie/Sam (lol again!), Meryl Streep/StyleFan.

Someone here on YLF suggested I resemble Christine Baranski. I can see it. Also I think maybe someone said Robin Wright, which is more of a stretch.
