Love the Helly's for versatility. I am terrible at limiting my boot choices and would probably take both! I have always dreamed of going to Whistler. Such a dreamy place...enjoy the snow in your fab boots!
For Whistler you will need boots that have good grip and are warm and waterproof. The ones on the right do not seem to be waterproof to me and I cannot see the soles in the pictures.
When I go to VT I wear my Timberlands and/ or my Sorels. I just want to stay warm, not slip and not get any slush on my legs.
I decided to go with the Helly Hansen. The Coach boots are over six years old. I think I will sell them, they're in very good shape. Living in Seattle, I really don't need two pairs of real winter boots. I was almost tempted to buy a new pair this year, but was good.
I am glad you went with HH. I think when you need gear, wear gear. HH is gear. The company knows how to make a product that will stand up in our canadian climate. They are from the north (norway). Coach, while lovely, is designer stuff.
