I had to come back to say that I used to wait for the weather but it often goes from cold to hot and there is no opportunity to wear spring things. Now I just go with spring colors as much as possible so that I can enjoy them in spite of the weather. Wardrobe hole...midtone or pastel warm sweaters.
We had a couple of days of lovely spring weather, I was tempted to fetch my sandals, and then ooops, hailstorms. I was stuck at my daughter's daycare this morning watching frozen hell break loose, but I was wearing my BF jeans. With tights underneath! At least I am off the heavy sweaters, I am wearing mostly cardies over colorful shirts. And no more puffers
I start wearing spring clothes the second -- I mean, literally the first day -- it is warm enough. (The calendar has nothing to do with it). For us, that day tends to happen around now. For you, this year, I think it's going to be later!
I have some lighter colored (but still warm enough) sweaters that I just purchased to wear during this transitional season. I still need to rely upon the "boots with skinnies" look for at least another couple of weeks, but at least my top half reads Spring.
I think it's light that's directing me. We had freakishly hot weather, right after freakishly cold weather. I just felt openly hostile to it right up until last week. But with the sun higher in the sky, I feel the time is right now...
I love winter, fall and spring. I find myself to be more challenged in the summer. I have a year round wardrobe. With only buying one or two things a season to help perk up my closet.
I go by the weather for when I start wearing lighter-weight clothes and sandals, but I've already brought out my spring clothing so I could see what I have. I have a bad habit of re-buying items that I already have (and that I don't want multiples of), simply because I don't remember owning them.
