Excellent list. The one that bothers me most is the general look of wear and lack of structure cotton can get over time. I prefer a tear in an otherwise robust looking item to that.

I find I'm personally most bothered/ annoyed by:

  • knits that stretch out or bag (some pilling is acceptable to me, but only if I can keep it under control)
  • cothes that have developed holes or tears in woven fabric from friction.
  • insides of footwear broken down
  • noticeable fading in clothing that is not meant to fade

Breaking down of fabric and stretching out/misshapen necks are my two biggest reasons. I suspect lots of people would still wear the items but I slowly become unhappy with them. Luckily it’s usually after over 30 wears.
