As Anne said we are in the middle of a very hot summer now. So I have bought the following to help me get through the high temps:

2 straight cotton, just above the knee length skirts
Bright blue clam diggers
Black straight leg pants
2 x 3/4 sleeve checked shirts (one black and white the other pale blue and white)
Blue jersey dress
2 black casual t shirt type tops

These all work with tops and bottoms already in my closet and have given my casual summer wardrobe a boost. (my work wardrobe was already quite well established).

We have some weather from Siberia on its way to the UK, so it's a bit early to be thinking about this, but so far on my list I have :-

White jeans (straight, I think)
Nude sandals (2 inch heel)
Woven, colourful tops
A couple of skirts
A summer dress, sleeveless, but not strappy

Deborah I'd love to see your blue jersey dress and the checked shirts (esp since I didn't buy any woven tops, and it is a slight wardrobe hole). Have you already posted pictures of them?

My apologies to all the YLFers in the southern hemisphere, and many thanks for chiming in! I wasn't even considering your "summer" needs and how different they are from us northern hemispherians (is that even a word?).

I'm with Butterfylady I look out of the window and just the thought of Spring clothes makes me shiver!

I'm on the lookout for a longer length raincoat- does anyone else not *get* hip length raincoats? if it's raining I don't just want my top half to be dry!
A cropped topper either a jacket or cardi
Dresses- leggings are on a sticky wicket at work at the moment! Though it seems to be with short tops, leggings as pants were rife!! I haven't had *the chat* yet as mine are much longer but even so I'm not going to count my chickens!!
Trousers and Skirts see above leggings reason x

My wish list is centered mostly around footwear and the need to cover up my surgery scar on my foot:

-fashion sneaker in white
-blue flat that can be worn with socks not sure what style to get
-black flat for skinny jeans, maybe the new slipper shoes I keep seeing?
-neutral colored oxford
-light colored short boot for jeans

Also I'm looking for:
-replacement black shirtdress in short sleeves
-replacement denim Bermuda shorts
-light color cropped blazer
-cardigan in a non neutral color
-cropped denim jacket for dresses

I'm trying the triple P method - so I hope I'm MUCH more selective and discerning when shopping. I usually go nuts and buy up everything that catches my eye (within budget limits, natch!) And no more black pants. Lord knows I have too many and I am sick to death of them!

So. I'm hoping for a fun pair of loose printed pants, harem-style pants (no idea why, but I just adore them! Haven't worn a pair since the 80s, though!), some new drapey t-s in bright colours, and a great stretchy mid-width belt. Also, a new Y-shape necklace - I find it's the most flattering necklace for me.

Spring bag (not white) maybe turquoise-I know orange is in but I cannot wear it
1 pair of pumps in a color (2 inch heel)
long sleeve button down or blouse in a color (turquoise), considering custom made
tweed suit
bras (2)
1 pair brown/burgundy/navy dress pants in a good fabrication
cardigan, in a spring color, to wear with lbd-turquoise again would work well
black skinny jeans, hemmed for a flat or low heel
jean skirt
new tee shirts (black/white/turquoise)
Spring trench (not black)
a new sari! Satya Paul of course!

I probably wont get ALL of these but any would help. I use an Excel spreadsheet to track my capsule wardrobes and plan my shopping. My list is work focused as that is where I spend most of my time-I do a fair amount of business travel too, so developing a travel capsule is essential (I had to fly out of town for the day last Tuesday-I managed to put together a meeting appropriate outfit I could fly in). However, there are some casual options. I am seriously thinking about having something custom made soon-either a shirt or another black pencil skirt as what is out there is just so bad and shirts in particular fit poorly/are badly made. I keep my clothes forever so buy as classic as possible. The dress pants will be a challenge-there only seems to be black and grey out there, or very dull alternatives that again fit poorly-another custom sew candidate. This was a good exercise-I will refine my Spring list further and try to define my must haves for the season!!

Orange jeans, for sure! And I am dying for a cobalt blazer I can wear to work. More skirts in fun colors. And maybe a darker denim shirt.
