I've actually checked off quite a few things I wanted or had been searching for, and some I was not planning for.

- I found my HEWI interesting black blazer while shopping with Angie and co. in Boston, PLUS the bonus long black jacket. Both have already been worn multiple times since then. This was a big score!

- I am embracing the Gap flared jeans I bought as a trial return to flares, and am considering keeping the Love Story flares, even though the washes are very similar.

- I found a replacement for my old nude wedge sandals that were an increasingly uninspiring default in summer when I wanted a casual low contrast shoe with a heel.

-I've freshened up my summer top collection with a couple of nice silk patterned tanks, courtesy of Club Monaco and Tahari. Again, those pieces are already getting worn!

- I found a navy sleeveless midi length dress (actually a high-low hem that might be midi-to-maxi on most women) a few days ago in Marshalls that may be a valuable addition to my summer wardrobe, since I'm pretty dependent on dresses in summer to stay cool yet look polished. I'm still on the lookout for more, since I purged about half a dozen summer dresses from my collection.

I am now considering adding a rash guard to my swim capsule, and perhaps adding another pair (or two) of sandals to the summer footwear collection. Some of my old sandals are looking worse for the wear. There are a pair of blue LDTuttles that I love, but I'm also considering white, for a change of pace.

I've already purchased most of the things on my list:
pastel full skirts (one knee length mint/cream, one midi length aqua)
light grey shoes (actually got silver metallic pumps)
light grey skirt (pencil)
light blue pants
white dress
tan pointy toe flats
smoking slippers

Also purchaed quite a few things that were not on my list:
GAP tunics, gingham shirt, navy/green fit and flare dress, pink fit and flare dress.

I'm thinking that I still need some flat sandals - have some in my Nordstroms cart by Born but haven't actually unpacked my summer shoes yet so best to wait and be sure I'm not forgetting something that I already have.

Doing a ton of purging and am fortunate to have a similar sized co worker who buys my things when I'm tired of them.

I have gotten so hyper-aware of trends (subconsciously or consciously) that sometimes things I should be happy with seem a tiny bit off. This season's example: a few of you have Birkenstocks on your list. Last year when birks were coming back into style, and when I was living in Santa Cruz (hippie beach paradise), I bought Mephisto sandals that are very similar and have more arch support for me. But now I find myself really wanting the wide double straps of the classic Arizona instead of the thinner straps of the Mephistos. I need to chill out and recognize that the ones I have are still giving the same overall effect.

I did a fair bit of shopping at the starting gun of 2014 and snapped up a dozen things already.

Left on my wish list:

jumpsuit and/or romper
peeptoe or cutout booties
floaty white tank

and for fall/winter-
blue anorak (maybe mixed media or leather sleeved)
wool overcoat in a bright color
cold shoulder tunic

I'm a bit stumped at my to-be summer style, as it's just heating up and I'm not liking the looks of the options I have hanging there. I may wear them through this season and purge majorly before moving back home in fall.

So many fun items here!

Greyscale, I feel the same as you. Because trends seem to come and go so quickly, I worry about the possibility of perpetual discontent with things I truly love and want to wear. It all seems sped up and yet it's all neither in nor out. And that is a good thing, except that I feel like I'm standing in the eye of a hurricane sometimes!

It has been fun looking at everyone's list. Right now I'm focused on holes in my travel capsule. For spring/summer I would love to find a while/ivory sheath dress, white d'Orsay pointed toe low heels, and slip on casual sneakers. When the hot weather actually gets here , I will probably discover other holes. Our hot weather season is usually very long, so I will try to wear what I have until later in the season and refresh my wardrobe at sales. I am craving different colors like mid toned mint green, radiant orchid and lavender. I'd like to add more citron, cobalt and coral.
I will soon need new bras and hope to wait until NAS.

My favorite purchase this year was a petite Banana Republic khaki trench at the local factory store. Every time I put it on it makes me happy.

I'm looking for some nice pointy-toed low heels and flats. Finding ones that work on my feet has been a challenge, but I'm giving it a shot. I'm going to try on the Charles David Bailey flat the Angie linked recently the next time I am at Nordstrom. I also have ordered the nude Banana Republic Giah heels with an old gift card I found forgotten in my wallet. (Score!)

I'd also like to add a colorful silk blouse (maybe something from Boden), and need to refresh some basics - black work trousers soon, denim after that, and knee-high boots in the fall.

S/S Purchases so far:
Navy espadrille wedges
black lace boxy top
chambray boxy top
white fine gauge sweater
blue and cream striped sweater
white straight leg jeans
back short sleeve woven asymmetrical tunic
silk-ish floral hi-low tee
grey statement necklace

S/S shopping list:
Print bermuda shorts
short sleeve hot weather tops
light/bright colored tube knit skirts
silver metallic shoe/sandals

I'm feeling pretty unenthused at the 2014 offerings right now. To me, it just feels like more of the same from spring/summer 2013. I really cannot think of any thing I am really wanting - one thing that I need though, is a new one-piece swimsuit - actually probably 2 one-piece swimsuits - one for swimming laps, and one for pool parties. I'm set on bikinis.

As long as I stay in So Cal for the summer my warm weather wardrobe is covered. However, if I go back to the Midwest to visit family and friends, I know that I will have a need for cooler tops and bottoms. Other than that - I'm in a very non-shopping phase - and I'm enjoying it, and taking advantage of all of the wardrobe items that I already have and love!

Fall and winter are too far away for me to even be thinking about right now.

I'm still hunting for a HEWI: a leather (maybe faux) moto jacket.

Crop tops; halter-neck top.

I am also on the lookout for light-colored tops. Before YLF, I was very unimaginative with my tops and always bought white because it went with all of my bottoms (OK, I had only about 7 bottoms anyway pre-YLF!). So when I became interested in dressing better, I went overboard and bought all kinds of dark-colored tops. Now I am in a rut and need lighter-colored ones.

Clothes in spring colors. Almost all my colors are the deeper, richer fall and winter ones.

Metallic silver footwear. Whether bootie, sandal, or flat, I do not know. This is my first spring while on YLF, so I'm just kind of wearing my wardrobe and waiting to see what type of silver footwear would be the most versatile with my (budding) spring wardrobe.

I am making a bit of progress...I ordered some blush shimmer jeans from White House Black Market, and those will be arriving next week. I think I got the last one in my size and short inseam (!). I also ordered some crop tops from ASOS that will be arriving soon.

As far as purchases already made, I bought a white linen-cotton blend cardi from Nordie's (I desperately needed a very lightweight, plain white cardi), a coral cardi (again, needed a topper in a spring color), a pair of lavender (orchid?) ankle pants from BR (wanted a pair of ankle pants in a spring color), two faux leather skater skirts (had been wanting for a while), and a leather pencil skirt (ditto). Gosh, I guess I've bought more than I thought this year...yikes.

Joy, I imagine you've seen the Vince white kitten-heel d'orsay

but they're certainly out of my price range for a non-daily-wear shoe. I was even more in love with a Proenza Schouler version last year (twice as expensive, sigh). Even though I would probably never wear white heels...

I've also thought of trying J Jill's shoes because they look comfortable. This is closer to a flat than a low heel but along the same lines:

I am trying and note the optimum word is TRYING not to purchase anything between now and NAS..saving for the big event...However, since I am a weak willed person, trying may not be as successful as I want it to be...smile...

I love reading about everyone's items. My item would be floral cutout shoes, yes

It fun to read everyone's items. High five, FastKat, I have that floral t from LE coming. My other items would be navy trousers and pointy toed pumps.

I was Jonesing for white boyfriend jeans and some kind of silver/pewter shoes to replace my beloved pewter Topsiders. Finally found the jeans and got a pair of silver Birks, which are the perfect shoe replacement.

Still in search of the perfect black flared midi skirt.
