Easy: black skinnies - jeans or faux leather, black tshirt, black boots or booties. If the weather is warmer, just that. If it's chilly, I'd add a few layers - mostly black and/or grey - like a scarf, cardigan, and/or faux leather jacket.

Accessories: Black hobo bag with metallic details, a few dangly necklaces, simple stud earrings, and lots of rings. Finish it off with smoky or winged eyeliner and nude lips. Maybe a pop of color on lips if I'm feeling adventurous.

Coincidentally, this is basically my ideal wardrobe with a bit of purple, plaid, leopard, and polka dots thrown in occasionally

Apparently I can't post pics yet, so here are a couple linky links to outfit images I think express this look really well:
Summer
Winter (minus the neon bag)

Mine would be two options for Fall/Winter. A pair of skinnys with ankle boots, a print top and leather jacket and a print dress with knee high boots and a leather jacket. Will look for picks later, on my phone.

I could never decide on one outfit, so I'd put my faith in the ROG and hope for the best!

Some variation of this has been my go-to outfit for a lot of 2015 (when it hasn't been over 90 degrees, that is)..

Skinny jeans + fitted top + heels. Clutch or handbag, and leather jacket or streamlined blazer for cooler temps.

That being said, I don't think I am a one-outfit kind of gal, but I could be pretty happy if the second outfit just swapped out the skinnies for a pencil skirt.

My ideal outfit I wouldn't tire of is a button down shirt, jeans, topper, scarf, and boots. This works for me for winter and the cooler parts of fall for my climate, but is a bit much on the formality scale for my MOTG lifestyle. I've been looking for blazer alternatives and I'm becoming happier and happier as I get closer to this uniform with casual pieces. The neutral palette definitely makes me happy. To mix it up, I'd throw in a pencil skirt.

I don't know about outfit , although I have a feeling that in deep winter it is sweater dress and leggings, but.... Guylian chocolate.

This was me in 1968. I've been wearing a version of this - jeans, jacket, blouse & boots forever. It would have to be my one outfit because without it it would be hard to get dressed for most of the year.

Skinny jeans, Current Elliott tee, UGG flats, a satchel bag that has a long strap option, sterling silver necklace, my favorite bracelet set. And I'd like to have an organic mixed green salad with white wine vinaigrette and rustic bread with Irish butter.

Caro, I think I've said it before - I really love that picture of you. And it's really a perfect combination, you always look great.

I'm struggling... If I just puttered at home... Black A line skirt, loose silky muscle tee, loose knit pullover vest, and black and white retro sneakers probably, puffer, Brid's cross for jewelry... Basically I *would* dress like a nun... Lol

The concept does not seem to compute. One snack would be wine and cheese though. With Reese's peanut butter cups for dessert.

I am struggling. It's.hard to limit myself to one. Seasons, and all that. Although I know you said not to get stuck on that...it's hard not to.

I have been wearing versions of great fitting jeans, boots/ booties, simple silk shirt or blouse, blazer for a long long long long time. Like Caro, I would struggle to get dressed without these items -- at least in spring and fall. Winter might require a pullover vs. jacket (plus a coat and other stuff) and summer might require shorts vs. pants.

Food? Arugula salad with shaved parmesan and lemon dressing.

For winter, straight leg trousers, booties, v-neck sweater.

For summer, straight leg trousers, sandals, v-neck knit top.

Gap Resolution Slim Straights in dark wash (I have these), a crisp, well made white button-down shirt (I don't have this), a cognac pair of penny loafers (there's no rhyme or reason to my love for penny loafers, and I have never found a pair that fits me comfortably). My purse would be the pink Kate Spade satchel I almost bought 1 1/2 years ago at the Boston meet-up but didn't because it had a tear mark on the back.

Skinnies or straight leg jeans, a fine gauge sweater or layering tees, scarf, leather jacket, flat booties.

For food? Tough. Crusty artisan bread and butter, or pasta and cheese. Impossible to choose!

Definitely one of my EF sack dresses with a drapey cardi and sandals or booties!

Does not compute for me either, Jaime

Suz... That salad! Mmmmm.....

Caro, I love that picture so much.

Thanks for indulging me, ladies! Your outfits sound amazing. But the YLF buffet is going to be chocolate, wine and a little bread and salad. Who's got the steak?

I could happily live in some combination of the following 2 outfits, which are essentially the same with the exception of the bottoms and footwear.

Lightweight sweater, with Jean-style jacket topper, straight leg jeans and sneaks for play, pencil skirt and pointy toe low shoes for work.

Carrot cake!

Narrow jeans, a tee in black or gray. Vintage front flap Coach bag. Honestly, Birkenstocks. And a hoodie if I needed it

I couldn't possibly wear one outfit every day.
But if I had to pick a uniform (and weather isn't a consideration), it would be bootcut jeans, a tee, long cardigan, belt, scarf, heeled booties, bag, and trench coat.
I came across this photo when I was looking for outfits with my taupe booties and realized I really liked this one from last year a lot.

And I don't think I could live without pizza.

I would wear a fantastic black pant suit... for the want of something better this would do me.... I would have an amazing coat in the wings - an original Sonia Delaunay would be divine but anything long in coloured velvet lined in silk satin and a bit of fur would be great.... and the thin white duke would be ready to find my every word fascinating and if not he would just sing and generally be cool!

CocoLion I'm obsessed with your outfit! Zara has faux leather pants and a similar scarf! I will have to recriate this outfit!

Interesting question: Navy hoodie, soft paisley scarf, jewel-toned T-shirt, dark denim BF or straight jeans, Keen hiking boots, Timbuk2 bag.

Macadamia nuts.

...I would like to be cool and wear a large avant garde flannel blanket or something, but I can see problems with this... Trouble walking, excess material getting caught in cabinet doors, drooping material at the elbows getting all flappy and tangly...
