My word is "Interesting". I have a deep seated fear of being boring.

At work I'm going for "powerful." In real life I think I'm Team Going For Chic.

That's challenging. I think I'll have to pick "honest" as in I'm not trying to dress or act in way that isn't me.

I think i would go with "confident". Can we even describe a style as being confident?

It's so hard to pick just one word - polished, I guess.

At the moment I am going for authentic - I really want to wear only what feels like ME.

("Unconventional" was a close second.)

i want to say put together, but thats 2 words. so i guess polished.

"Honest", "authentic" and "myself" -- those all mean the same thing, I think. Nice one! Another popular descriptor. I don't feel like I need it on my list, though, because I do dress like myself -- I can't really dress any other way. (Although I did try it once -- dressing like someone else, I mean -- at the beginning of my teaching career, just so I wouldn't look like a student. I tried to dress older, and more business-like. It felt awkward).

Mona -- absolutely, I think you could describe a person's style as "confident". I wouldn't mind having that one as a descriptor, either.

kkards -- you could hyphenate it. "Put-together"? I bet you could get away with that.

Amy -- I like distinctive, too. Gee, there are a lot of words that I want to appropriate.

I think I just want to look GOOD.

This is a tough question - how about "effortless" as in "I just threw this together but don't I look great?" or maybe "sleek" since I don't like overdone outfits. I'm not saying I always end up looking like this, but it's what I'm going for.

Cool

But what I expect people to say is "cute" meaning "cool." And when I say cool, I don't mean the "neato" type. I mean the other kind with dark undercurrents. Lol.

Fluid, although I'm quite gentle I'm nearly always in motion and love my clothes to be soft and move and drape with me.

Unique! or fun or cute

Today, "windblown" appeals to me. I've been liking my hair so that the longer bottom layers look blown forward from the back. And I like to wear ladylike, polished, traditional clothing that's worn carelessly, tossed on, disheveled. (vs. distressed clothing added to polished outfits) I feel dynamic so like the idea of having the wind at my back speeding me on.

Mine is - lady. I want my outfits to reflect first and foremost that I am a woman, but without ever crossing the boundaries of bad taste in any aspect.

Trust Vildy to come up with something outside the box. Some days, I like "windblown" too!

Angie -- "modern"? Of course. Why did I not predict you would say that. You are absolutely modern.

Sara L. -- "effortless" -- I like it! I think it goes hand in hand with "cool".

Rachy -- to me, "cool" always has dark undercurrents, when the word is applied to a person's style.

RoseandJoan -- I think "fluid" is a good word for your overall style, and not just because of the way your clothes drape.

Elisabeth, you do make me chuckle. Thanks for the smiles

Have a look at Ornella's thread - it's an offshoot of your thread:

Natty.
Yeah, I went there....on the never ending quest to bring "natty" back.

If it can be one word only I think I will go with 'strong'...

My first thought was elegant, but that feels somewhat out of reach like chic. So I think I'll go with polished.
