The same thing you'd wear to the event if you were sitting anywhere else. Team jersey, jeans or leggings or track pants, nice sneakers, sunglasses and a cross-body bag.
eta: unless it's a corporate event where the hosts are in business wear....
What fun Jeanie! I don't think I have ever been in a VIP suite so I can't really help. I would be inclined to dress nicer versions of what one would normally wear for a game- smarter trousers and possibly boots or fancier sneakers, nicer top and coat. Could you Google images of people in VIP boxes?!
Thanks Jenni NZ. I tried Google ing first but got confused. There are women in slinky dresses and in jerseys and I read that there were dress codes and no jeans allowed. There must be different levels of VIP. I think I'm gonna try to boost up my sporting wardrobe like you said.
Maybe you could see if your husband could ask someone through his contacts? Though men often don't agonise about this sort of thing like we do... ( as a huge generalisation). I would be like you. I find if I have put effort into dressing appropriately and it is pretty correct then once I'm at the event I relax into it and enjoy it a lot better. I am an extrovert and like to party once I get there, but have quite an introspective streak beforehand!
I occasionally go in a VIP booth for NHL games and CFL games and it is a tiny bit dressier. I usually wear a pair of my dressier dark jeans, booties and either a team shirt or a top in the team color with a leather jacket. If I'm just watching a game with my husband in regular seating I'm more casual with cute runners, jeans and a team tshirt. If you've got a team tshirt, I once saw someone in a private booth wearing one with a blazer over it and it looked quite cute.
