Both options look fantastic; I hope you try them both and keep the one that makes you feel great. I do wonder if the the chocolate brown will feel too dark for June? I'm a person who defaults to dark colours 90% of the time and then regret it when a rare daytime summer event comes up. I bet the dress (I vote green) will accommodate a wider range of toppers if you end up needing one; finding the right length jacket to go over the two-piece may be a bit more finicky.

I agree with you that the dress has an elegant cut and will dress up beautifully with some jewelry and pretty sandals. But then, I've been hanging out in some rather natural-fibre-obsessed online communities, so seeing pretty linen outfits for showers, weddings and other special events doesn't seem at all unusual to me. I think synthetic fibres have somewhat skewed our impression of what constitutes "polished" and created an expectation that clothes never wrinkle, fade, etc. And I bet you anything that if it's warm out there will be plenty of men in slightly rumpled shirts (poplin, madras, all those summer-weight fabrics).

Well it isn’t a wedding. That much I have determined. Plus it’s outdoors with food /bar inside . And it’s in the evening. Definitely will need a jacket of some sort unless it’s a blistering heat wave which isn’t likely in June . None of this new information is helping !

Not what you’re asking but my sister-in-law often borrows an outfit from a friend for these types of occasions. And are you sure you don’t have the makings of a fabulous outfit in your closet? Scarves, jewelry, bag, kimono, etc. I know you have a lot of B&W, but?

And have fun at the party.

Both look good on paper, but it all comes down to a try on. I have absolutely no idea what one wears to such an occasion. My engagement "party" was actually in Boro Park (ultra orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn) and believe me you don't want to go by the dress code there.

LOL, Jaime. I have visions....

Don’t you have a grass green shirt dress in your closet that might work? Wear it with the hot pink holiday slides or your black closed toe wedges. A colourful clutch (with the bright footwear) or black or graphic black and white with the wedges. Great earrings and your always fabulous make-up.

How do you remember this stuff Carla ? I’m quite amazed ! I returned the green dress and passed on the hot pink sandals some time ago . They never go worn . The black fake suede mules also hit the donate bag a week ago - they were past their prime . That would have made a cool outfit though !
