OK I haven't hung around TIFF all the much, but aren't there volunteers and tons of fans mixed in with the crowds? While the celebrities in gowns are probably behind ropes anyway?
The one screening I went to had regular people dressed casually. The French star who spoke before the film was impeccable in a perfectly cut simple pantsuit, but not Hollywood glam by any means. That was for a small movie that turned out to be terrible (there was a standing ovation when it ended - because it was over) and was never released commercially AFAIK. But there's a lot of screenings like that mixed in with the bigger draws. Movie geek fans line up to get into shows and have long days of multiple screenings, and they are dressed comfortably.
Certainly agree that there will be a lot of fabness, and that Toronto fashionistas start wearing their fall clothes even if it's still 80-90 degrees out. But I think fab Una will fit in just fine for everyday street wear... and plan some great outfits for parties

Yes, coffee with Una, that is in my agenda for September.
That is all the celebrity I need.

Jules, Una's sister's film is in the show -- she'll be doing some gala-type events at this thing; her sister is a participant which puts her in a different league.

BUT, having said that, when she's not swanning around, she'll need some ordinary clothes, too. UWP should work.

That's exciting! I guess I took the question as a general Toronto/TIFF question rather than gala-specific. But I have complete faith in Una for both Can't wait to see pictures!
