The scarf is beyond gorgeous !!!! You are not crazy. I also will go for a scarf as a pick me up. When I worked, sometimes I would pick up a lipstick or nail polish. Sometimes just a magazine will take care of it.
As for the imagining, marketing people get paid good money for creating aspirations. In my early 30's, after seeing a layout in Vogue of a woman gardening in a silk ball gown, I said " what the heck" I want to look good while I putter around too. My husband came home to find me in a black dress he had given me and I was scrubbing the tub ! He wasn't impressed ....he thought I had had a breakdown. Thank God for YLF - so much more practical for my life !
