Well, I don't know if I have a "signature style" exactly. I suppose my whole style is signature for me. I enjoy having fun with what I wear - whether that is wearing a suit like I did today for just running around - or cute skirts/pants and a great top.

I suppose my signature is the fact that I never leave the house without earrings, unless I am in a huge rush and accidentally forget.

I am cracking up at how this thread got revived! I almost did what Shiny did, and commented on the blog post itself. I noticed the dates before it was too late! ;-D

My signature style really just involved two things: bright colors and a complete look. The shoes, necklaces, purse all has to work with the rest of the outfit, or I just don't feel properly dressed. Not matching, but complementary; the necklace needs to emphasize the neck of the top, the shoes need to finish off the leg/outfit, etc.

And brights, omg, I love brights. I have just stocked up for my new size: summer yellow, maize, turquoise, kelly green, rich teal, bright blue, fire engine red, plum, orange, etc. Almost all the pastels from my friend have been packed away, and now with colors that I love, my closet feels like my own again.

I was thinking about this today...

Before I got laid off from my office job, I dressed from my shoes up. I recently took them all down to find my summery shoes, and realized how much I love each and every pair! Most of my shoes have patterns on them or are interesting in some way (and most of them are heels).

Now that I'm working retail, I have to wear flats to run around the store in. So, I've recently been trying to find flats that have cute patterns or fun colors.

I also wear a lot of really long, chunky necklaces. But I've been doing this for years now (since 2006) and I think I'm getting bored with it! Scarves is my thing these days

It's been fun to read both the new AND old posts about our signature styles - and those that we've left behind! Some other thoughts:

One of my old signature items was a blazer. Even for smart casual wear I used a brown courduroy blazer with jeans. Lately I've replaced that with the two moto jackets I bought this year, but maybe I should bring some of my blazers back too so I don't get stuck in a brand-new rut.

Some of the current "signature style" elements that I didn't think about are:
1. Playing up the eyes. I've been told that my eyes are a pretty shape, and I like to play them up with subtle fun eyeshadow colors, curled lashes, and a coat of black mascara. Since I alternate between glasses and contacts, I also make sure that my eyeglasses are delicate enough that they show off my eyes instead of hiding them.
2. Classic bob, with slight variations in length, angle, and bangs. I rarely wear it up. Alas, this is only a signature move because I'm completely inept at any sort of updo, long hair looks terrible and unhealthy on me, and a bob is the simplest low-maintenance cut and suits my face. Lucky for me I like the look.

I think my signature style involves bright colour and details.

Brights- About a year ago, I did not own that many colourful clothes at all but ever since I gained confidence in my taste in clothes, I have been buying every colourful piece of clothing I like. My wardrobe now looks like a peacock's tail feathers and I love it.

Details- In every outfit, there always are little details like textured tights, unusual cuts, bows, belts. I love the little touches and they always make my boring outfit of H&M cheap clothes look so much better.

How interesting! I think my signature style would include:

- black. I love black, and it suits me. I can't imagine not wearing it for any length of time. I think white will become this way for me as well.
- saturated color, particularly jewel tones.
- fabulous shoes. I will often wear pretty basic clothing but with fab shoes.
- earrings. I feel naked without them.
- short hair.
- funky details, like buckles, zippers, ties, bows, etc. etc. etc., particularly in shoes.

It has been interesting reading the new posts on everyone's style. While I can pick up on others' style and admire it, I don't know what mine is. That's partly what draws me to read this blog and forum...a search for personal style.
I'm slowly finding what clothing shapes work best, but seem to have a bit of everything and don't often wear the same pieces together twice. I'm probably a mood dresser who gets bored easily. I wish I could identify my style.

my daily wear is usually a band t-shirt, skinny jeans, and converse. i straighten my hair most days. just eyeliner and mascara. and then usually the only jewelry i wear is my wedding ring, and two other rings. Prom

Hmm. Not sure I've developed signature style yet but I veer towards neutrals; only feel like myself when my hair is long; tend to wear few accessories; gold over silver.

A bit off topic but have any of you read the book called "Style Statement?" I first heard of it while reading the fabulous PassagedesPerles blog. I took it from the library and have just started to read it. It's supposed to help one figure out a style statement, not just as it relates to fashion but also the style in which one lives life.

I think one of my signatures is always wearing a different watch. I have a collection and wear a different one each day that complements my outfit-nothing silly. My friend and I shop at the apparel mart in Atlanta and you can buy them at really low prices.
