OK - so currently, my Holy Grail items are:

*a navy-blue soft leather jacket that fits me like a 2nd skin
*a pair of black knee-high flat-healed leather boots that hug my calves
*a black *soft* leather oversized clutch

The perfect black sheath dress and the elusive trench coat.
Thanks for playing along ladies - I had so much fun reading your replies!

Just think: if we combined the perfect jeans with the perfect blouse, topped with the perfect leather jacket and carried the perfect trench, while wearing the perfect pumps while putting on our perfect pearls that were in our perfect handbag while packing our perfect swimsuit for our perfect weekend getaway - we'd look FAB!!!
...but we look fab anyway, right?:-)
If you asked me a month ago it would be a white leather jacket but I am already sorted here so here we go:
WHITE STRAIGHT LEG FULL LENGTH ELL FITTING JEANS. Cannot find them for 3 years now!
I can finally, proudly say that "trench coat" is no longer on my list! I swear, when I tried that coat on after slimming the sleeves, they heard my sigh of relief in space.

Still looking for:
- The perfect, structured, bright, edgy, photographic print dress.
- A wear-it-forever, not-super-trendy, non-twee, non-whimsical cat print dress/top/pant/handbag.
- Structured, weighty, woven, full-length printed pants in The Perfect Print.
- Thick, woolen slouchy skinny trousers.
- Swashbuckling, slim, tailored, midi-length duster coat
- OTK boots with a small wedge that don't offend DH or inspire hooker jokes
- Destroyed skinnies in the perfect light wash - not too light or too dark, natural looking wear, 100% cotton.
Well, imaginary item would be a 31D bra, since I am perennially between sizes - sigh.
The 'one that got away' would be the silk Pucci dress that I waffled on spending 3 months budget on.

A navy lace dress, I literally dream about finding the right one!
Oh, Rae - you made me think of slouchy winter trousers. Most of what's out there is in summer weights, maybe because more flowy? I'd like some slouchy tweed or woolen trousers in a drop-crotch silhouette. Like a '20s newsboy. Even suspenders.
I SO hear you on that look, Una! I am totally kicking myself for not keeping both of these Esprit pants back when I worked at the bank. Rust plaid! Suspenders! Arg.

Oxblood seasonless wool trousers, straight leg, 33-1/2" inseam that hit me just below my natural waistline, flat front, well-made with pockets, and belt loops, slim through the hips but roomy enough for my thighs. *Sigh* Is that too much to ask?
A wool coat that doesn't "wear me".
A knee length denim straight skirt without front zipper.
A pure white closefitting quality turtleneck sweater.

Pajamas. I like a nice cotton with a drawstring waist that is not to heavy in the summer, but warm enough for winter. I don't want them to drag on the floor, but I don't want crops. I don't want to spend a zillion dollars either.
I feel as if I have been looking for the perfect leather cognac blazer for a decade. I also have not found a pair of cargo pants that I love in a couple of years to replace a pair that I had for years and that I loved.

I have found the ultimate fantasy trench for me...but the price is preventing from getting to the grail. I just LOVE the berry color Burberry trench below. I would love one in wool as well ( doesn't have to be a Burberry though ).

Ornella, I remember that trench ! It broke your heart. I had a similar experience with a cranberry trench that I saw in CA and decided not to buy it because I didn't want to lug it back home to MA. When I got home, it was sold out everywhere. I thought of you.

Forever I've been looking for low-heeled, closed-toe, waterproof, 8-hour+ shoes in a light color but not white. Think Ellen Degeneres. I have found "almosts" but not "the one".

Lately I'm searching for a dress to wear when we video weddings. I want *sleeves* just like all dresses used to have, but that seems to be a fantasy pipe-dream. And nothing too dramatic, I want to look fab but not stand out in their photos.
