Oh, poor Sienna!! She must be glad to have that off now.

Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone, and the commiseration!

Sorry to hear about your collarbone. That really makes dressing challenging. You have definitely figured out a way around it and look fantastic! Wishing you speedy healing!

Dang, Suz! I’m sorry you’re hurt, but hope you heal quickly. You look great even in a sling. I love a good side stripe pull-on pant. Easy but stylish! Take care!

  • I am so sorry, again-for your injury, Suz-this is hard. Not being able to function without others' help is such a pain...but if that matters i can atest you still look stylish during your recovery- great that you are having some comfy/oversized clothes for that. I did have to cut up some sleeves and buy new PJ and some long sleeves tees (all 2 size bigger) for my DH to be able to dress them over his cast. Winter coat was a pain but we still found something to wear in his closet. Hope you all (including poor Max...and Sienna) will recover soon.

That does not sound like fun at all but you still look great. It does make you realize how hard it would be to go through life with a disability doesn't it? I thought about that often when I broke my foot and was non-weight bearing.

Agree with the idea of front close bras and button front shirts - my mom broke her shoulder a few years before she passed away and we went on a search for things she could easily get on. Those were the winners. Also soft and comfortable to aid healing!

What a challenge! Oof. Great to see you post, though, and to know that you are holding up well. It would feel so weird not to be able to wear a t-shirt (per today's Team X or Y post!). Stepping in to a stretchy cami is brilliant. Sending continued good wishes for your healing, Suz.

Suz, having had the same injury in summer a couple years back, I remember well trying to get dressed. Ugh. Can't even imagine trying to dress for cold weather! I ended up buying a 3-pack of XXXL men's v-neck undershirts, cutting their fronts straight down the middle and wearing those. No bra, of course, which was horribly uncomfortable.

You have my sympathy and best wishes for a proper healing and a smooth road back to health.

What a terrible experience! I'm so sorry to hear about your broken collarbone. You have adjusted with style and verve and you look fabulous as usual!

I fell down stairs a few times in my 20s and it is no joke. More recently I fell *up* a flight of carpeted stairs (wearing slippery slippers--never again!) and hit my face on the door jam, breaking my glasses in half and giving myself a black eye :).

Poor Max and Siena.

Oooooch! Jonesy!! That's awful!

You know, when we are stressed, rushed, overwhelmed, and/or grieving, these accidents are much more common. I won't say much about that except my accident was on Jan. 8.

I admire your positive attitude, Suz. You are a winner! When it happened to me, I was evil and cursed my fate for many days. Then I reflected on the fact that my disability was temporary and fixable ... and I stopped complaining. Like you, I wore mostly cardigans and sweatpants. I gave up the bra. For the rare times I went out for a short stroll, my aunt borrowed me a cape. I was lucky that this happened in an unseasonably warm March - I could sit in the garden reading and looking at the birdies. If I had to stay inside the house with the horrible weather we are having in these days, I would have gone nuts very quickly.
Again, best wishes for a speedy recovery and a virtual hug. And wishes to Max and Sienna as well! Poor darlings, they are so patient.
