During the holiday season I dig deep into the lists from the streaming channels, and binged the following:
-Lovesick(light and funny; a boy with girl problems)
-The Hour (great series about

an investigative news program)
-Bridgerton (pretty but there is so much more to the books that is missed amongst the nude scenes....Still it is eye candy and a fun one)
-Hollywood- a fairytale but a feel good nonetheless.
-Sheera( I had a 8 year old at home and it was awesome to go back to watch cartoons, DH and I sometimes miss watching Arthur )

As for movies we watch Wonder Woman this weekend.
Next in our list are :
Cobra Kai(season 3)
Young Wallander

Sanditon, A.though as a Jane Austen fan but don’t really like what they did with this unfinished version.
We watch almost no network programming but watch PBS mysteries like Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders, Father Brown and Miss Fisher. Have been watching The Crown as I am old enough to remember when this stuff was happening..
Bridgestone, although mostly a romance piece.

We just watched Death of Stalin, a dark comedy on Netflix. Seeing it was kind of surreal after what happened today in Washington. Highly recommend the movie!

Love these threads. Jaileen is my streaming twin, I think. I love police procedurals too. I have not watched Valhalla or MI-5 but will check those out.
Queens Gambit, The Boys, Umbrella Academy--all great. Right now I'm watching The Expanse. Staying up too late on these binge sessions. DD's have been watching Younger and admit to getting kind of sucked into the drama and fashion. I tried Schitt's Creek but couldn't get into it. I'd like to try that again...

Thank you nuancedream for the suggestion of Molly’s Game. My husband and I both really enjoyed it. I heard her story years ago and remembered it (I think partially because I somehow had my heart broken by the revelation that Tobey McGuire aka Player X is a jerk!), but somehow missed that there was a movie, and with actors I enjoy too. I came up with a fun theory they cast Michael Cera as player X partly as a little dig (since he isn’t natural ‘handsome leading man’ material).

The Expanse. One of my favorite shows right now.

Cursed on Netflix - so far it's good, distracting enough.
I've got to re-watch The Expense to able able to get to the last season.

Watched the first episode of All Creatures Great and Small last night with mom and dad - we all liked it. Great scenery and vintage details.

I'm really enjoying The Watch, which is on BBC America here - a cyberpunk-ish interpretation of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, or at least a part of them. So far we've only had two or three episodes.

I just turned my husband on to Orphan Black and we are enjoying it a lot. Binged Season 1 in three sessions and are on to Season 2!

Also started The Morning Show on Apple+ last night and loved it!

Not a holiday show, but like Angie I absolutely loved Cobra Kai - just finished binging it. Have yet to see any of the Karate Kid movies, but certain events are referenced with flash backs. Great 80’s soundtrack and references. Trapper Keeper anyone?

I just watched this documentary film, Mole Agent, and it was excellent. The beginning is hilarious, where the guy applies to be a spy and gets kitted out like Inspector Gadget. It’s a feeling but adult, not maudlin, look at life in a senior home. Their poet in residence is quite good!

This weekend I watched a documentary on Netflix on Gordon Lightfoot. It really took me back.

Back with some more ideas:

For those of you who like caper stories, highly recommend "Lupin" and "Imposters" on Netflix. Big fun!

Also "Chef's Table" on Netflix is a series about chefs around the world from the filmmaker who made "Jiro Dreams of Sushi." It's not new but it's great. Also "Cooking" with Michal Pollan is only four episodes but we enjoyed it a lot.

Glad you updated MsMary, I keep coming back for more options
Yes, I also watched Lupin and it was great fun.
Imposters is next on my list.

Mary, we are totally on the same viewing content wavelength. "Orphan Black" is absolutely engaging, and Tatiana Maslany is incredible. Great you brought that one up for our friends here!

And "Imposters"! So cute. I wish there had been another season.

We revisit episodes of "Psych" and "Monk" when the news is too heavy, or we've finished an Israeli series about conflict and special forces and need something humorous. They've held up well, and are still funny.

Speaking of Israeli series, we're on the last episode of "Commandments" on Amazon about a platoon of Haredi soldiers going through boot camp. Pretty good.

Speaking of Israeli series and actors, a friend recommended Baltazar, which is a French series about a medical examiner whose dead "patients" talk to him and help him solve crimes. You have to pay extra for the Acorn channel on Amazon Prime to get it, but we really enjoyed it. (Lead actor is Israeli.) Then, going further down the rabbit hole with that actor, we ended up with Messiah on Netflix, which was interesting if kind of a mess (and ends after one season with no real resolution, so fair warning...).

This week we are binging Grand Designs, where misguided people build their own houses and sometimes ruin their lives in the process. We've watched all the episodes that are easily available and now are scouring outlets like Tubi and YouTube for more because we're totally addicted!

@ Ms Mary - DH and I have fallen for an actor, then searched out his repertoire for viewing. It can be a fun exercise.

Messiah was a mess, you are right. it had potential.

Great Israeli stuff - Fauda, Shtisel, Beauty & the Baker. ( @Shevia - Jaime, what other shows can we get on Netflix, Amazon that you recommend?)

big little lies
queens gambit
queen of the south
currently watching morning show
the undoing
uncle frank
the only boy in NY

so many. want too much tv time!

Netflix: The Umbrella Academy, The Home Edit, Dash and Lilly, Emily in Paris, Julie and the Phantoms, The Movies that Made Us, My Octopus Teacher and Stranger than Fiction (a serious portrayal by Will Ferrell).

Amazon Prime: Alex Rider, The Pack (reality show in which owners and their dogs race around the world), Alias, and 7500 (the entire movie takes place in a commercial airplane cockpit).

... I am on Episode 1 of Bridgerton... am I imagining it, or did the poor country cousin arrive in a day dress with no hat, coat or gloves?! It’s freaking me out...

I watch
“the Crown”. The series is very beautiful and well-shot. When you look, you get
colossal aesthetic pleasure. But the feeling of chewing gum does not leave, as
if the director is afraid to overload the viewer's brain. Instead of showing
historical action (what is happening in the world, behind-the-scenes wars, etc.)
- one clear chewed line. Long scenes with kisses, silence of the main
characters, etc. Therefore, the impression is very ambiguous. It would be cool
if the entire series showed world history through the prism of the life of
Elizabeth Il. But alas, no. Everything is provided for this story to last 10
seasons. Otherwise I liked Churchill and the scenery very much.
