Gryffin, I'm really late to this thread, and there have been so many great suggestions. Style shifts often come with some "agita." And your goal to curate and focus your style will not come without some interior struggle. What about giving yourself, as someone mentioned earlier, a small "candy allowance," but otherwise stick to your guns for a season or two, running every purchase through through style descriptors. I think that once your closet becomes more integrated with your style goals, you'll have the natural reinforcement that comes from a wardrobe working with ease and harmony. Treat it like a temporary "fashion challenge" and evaluate it's effectiveness at the end.
