Hi RunCarla,

Do you travel regularly? Now that I'm retired I look to traveling more often. I'd like to think 2 international trips a year, and many domestic or weekend getaways to somewhere new.

Save up (vacation time, money) for occasional grand adventures? We try to save on those countries or states that may cost more (i.e. Iceland, Hawaii)

Do you go to the same place(s), or change things up? We fell in love with Portugal so we are definitely going back. Not sure when, but January was perfect timing since it was off season to tourists.

Are you resuming pre-pandemic patterns of travel, or desiring something completely different? I am so ready to travel although cost may be a factor since I won't be seeing my pension for quite a few months (Fed govt).

What does travel mean to you? Freedom, fantasy, playtime, meeting new people and culture, seek a change in the mundane every day life

Covid shut down our travel and we have not resumed it. Usually we took a week in February or March to go somewhere warm, usually an island, and 10-14 days in the Fall after kids are back in school to continue exploring Europe or Canada. I usually worked right up to Thanksgiving and over the Christmas break because my practice had a lot of short deadline projects at year end. Since Covid we have been largely limiting ourselves to our cabin in the mountains and to trips to the Coast to stay in very well ventilated coastal resorts.
