Good for you, Sarah! We walked everywhere and did not drive for 8 days. Kittie looks KILLER. Does your sister live out in the suburbs? The snow was even worse there. Redmond, Issaquah and Sammamish looked like the North Pole.

PS: I wanted to add that I love your hair, Ana. I can't wait to see it in person!
And Tanya, I echo your love of Express for men. My husband scored three merino v-neck sweaters in fabulous colors, a great multi color scarf, a coat, and a jacket in the past month. I love the fit for him.

Hehe, the jeep is a must have in that weather! My sister and my parents are in the burbs. My other sister lives out in no man's land on a lake. They got two of their cars totally stuck! We went to the Tulalip outlets and the Alderwood Mall last Tuesday. It was much clearer on those main roads than at my family's houses.

Thanks, Sarah! Maybe you can help me pick out a hair color when we get together, hee hee.

Angie, I really liked the jacket. I'm trying to remember (I tried on a ton of stuff)--I think the issue was the sleeves. They were a little too long on me to be bracelet sleeves, so I'd have to get them hemmed, and that can be quite expensive on a blazer. Plus, I wasn't sure how I could work it into my wardrobe and not look too businessy, if that makes sense. I have a nice black blazer from Express that is very flattering, but I've tried working it into several outfits, and it pretty much only looks relaxed enough when I pair it with skinny jeans and some sort of knit top underneath, maybe a scarf if it's cool enough outside. I need to invest in some more jeans, really, since I only have 3 pairs, including my white pair. My black ones seriously need replacing, they are starting to look grey. I also want to add items that will work for multiple outfits. All that combined sort of lead to a "no" for me personally, but from what I know about your wardrobe, I could definitely see it fitting in nicely for you.

I'm toying with the idea of taking the little cropped sweater back (even though I love the little embellishments around the neckline!). I could basically only wear it with a high waisted, plain skirt. It really needs a very sleek shirt worn underneath it, like a cami--but with jeans, a cami on it's own is not really flattering around my mid section (as you can see from my photos, hee hee).

Ana, would you be able to pair that cropped sweater over a sheath style dress? I have one in grey (I think you've seen it) that I think would look great with that style of sweater. I just know how you love those rosette details on things. Maybe we could try to find something when we get together?

Oh, that's a good idea. I hadn't though about a sheath dress. Yeah, let's look for something, that would be great. I'll hang onto it until then. Thanks Sarah!

Good reasons, Ana. I debuted my new NL jacket last night. I simply adore it.

My bluefly box arrived. Loads of possibilities on the knitwear and I’m keeping the skirt (which I wore today!) Got some thinking to do.

I had some good luck at the holiday sales too, and I had Christmas money to spend. It was a madhouse downtown, and I came away with a throbbing headache as well as my goodies, but oh well. It was worth it.

I got two Gap vests (waistcoats): the tweed one Tarzy has, only in plum, and the black tuxedo one she also tried. I like them both in different ways and am still deciding whether to keep both or just one. They were on sale for $15 and $25 respectively. I also got two boyfriend cardis in camel and grey. I have the same style in black and love it to bits. Boyfriend cardis work perfectly for my lifestyle and style. I wear them almost daily.

I got a purple wrap top on sale at Jacob as well.

I had a consignment appointment that night (as per my New Year's resolution to clear out stuff I don't wear!) and while they were checking my clothes I used my store credit on a fun graphic T (I'm going to try it with the black tux vest), a funky grey short-sleeved tunic cardigan with a rosette detail, and a pair of gold and smoky topaz drop earrings--plus a bar of rose-cardamom soap

I splurged on a red patent handbag at Winners, and then found one I like even better in an almost identical style for $70 less at a local boutique. It's made by a local designer--this one, only in cherry patent: http://gaya.ca/retail/index.ph.....cts_id=301. I'll be returning the other!

I also picked up a basket-weave bone-colored sweater coat at Roots that's surprisingly flattering and very comfy: http://canada.roots.com/Vineya.....Color=4917

Finally, I ordered this flower pin: http://www.etsy.com/view_listi.....d=19167063

And... my silver 20-eye Docs! So excited for them to arrive!

I planned to take photos today but I came down with a sore throat and am sitting here in my hoodie sipping a pint of Devil's Smoothie instead.

Pete and I went shopping today again at Express so that he could pick up another pair of those great jeans. He also got a cute striped shirt and two pairs of shoes at Aldo.

I also picked up a skinny red croco belt at Express and a simple cream turtleneck.

Oh! I forgot to mention that I also got an oversized black patent clutch with a diamond pattern (also at the consignment store with credit), a short chunky red necklace, and a short strand of chunky grey (faux) pearls. Needless to say there were some amazing sales!

That sounds wonderful Brianna and Tanya. I’m looking forward to everyones new bargain looks.

I managed to keep one piece of knitwear and a fabulous skirt from my bluefly selections. I need to have the pullover taken in at the torso, and can't wait for the finished result.

Here is the skirt: http://www.bluefly.com/Free-Pe.....detail.fly.

Which skirt is it? I think the link is broken or incomplete?

I love to read what everyone has bought and see those pictures. Angie the jacket and skirt are so you! I can imagine how fabulous you look in them! Also I love how they paired the jacket with the blouse in the picture. What did you wear the jacket with?

I bought tons of stuff. Here they are:

1. a pair of knee high Franco Sarto boots in black: http://s2.thisnext.com/media/2.....3EEC2E.jpg;

2. a Kathy bag in mustard color: http://i282.photobucket.com/al.....bag011.jpg. Thanks Angie for your feedback on my thread for the bag, I decided to keep it;

3. a black boyfriend cardi, a ruffle necked blouse and a dressy cropped jacket from ATL;

4. a pair of Joe's Jeans from Bluefly: http://www.bluefly.com/Joes-Je.....detail.fly;

5. a black cardi, a black military jacket, a black knit dress, a purple cowl neck blouse and two pairs of tights from BR.

When I was in Nordstrom today, I fell in love with this leather jacket: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults. The price is much more than what I'd like to pay. I left my phone number with the sales lady so she can call me when it's on sale, however I have no idea how low it go if it will go on sale. We'll see.

Jackpot for Julia! Somehow the links are disconnected but I know we’ll see your new goodies soon enough on uber stylish you

Fab leather jacket btw. I fell in love with this one and it fits like a glove:

Thanks for the compliment, Julia. I wore my new NL jacket with a metallic turtle neck, my Marc Jacobs denim skirt, cream go-go boots, long chunky pearl and leather necklace and a retro tomato red clutch. I wore a coat, gloves and scarf too, but took those off in the restaurant. We were actually having supper with Antje! I felt fab.

Sorry for those broken links! I have no idea why they didn't work.

Thanks Angie for indulging me with the description of your outfit. I put together a Polyvore picture to capture it, hope it's not too far way:

You've all scored such amazing things, congratulations! I can't wait to see all the outfits you'll be able to create with them!

How funny, Angie, when I read you bought a skirt on Bluefly, I immediately thought of that one (yep, I'm browsing that site way too much;-).
And WOW!!!! I want to marry that leather jacket!! It is PURE PERFECTION. I love everything about it, and that's a serious understatement, the colour, the cut, that incredible collar, the asymmetrical zipper. Sigh, I'm officially jealous now!-)

I've learned my lesson with the purple Claudia Sträter leather jacket, I know it's very important to try these on, there are too many variables at play to just buy a leather jacket on sight. But I'm sorely tempted, oh yes.
Well, from now on my standards for a great leather jacket will be even higher. I won't settle for an ordinary one, not after seeing this;-)

You are clever, Julia! A fabulous reproduction and I’m impressed.

Well Inge, you and I are both besotted and married to that red leather jacket. I guess we’re a match made in heaven
