Trousers, underthings, and trendy items that aren't black.

I agree that perfect trousers are a tough challenge...although being a frock girl myself it's not my biggest worry.

Until recently, knee-length or midi dresses were hard to find (everything was super short!!) but that seems to be shifting some. Yay!

I'm always on the lookout for unique and interesting tops/blouses. Classic tops are everywhere, but unique tops that are also flattering and versatile are my holy grail! Anthropologie and Sundance have been the source of my long-standing favorites over the years.

I am always looking for attractive/sexy bras and panties that are also practical and comfortable...harder to find than one might think! My current favorite brand is Anita/Rosa Faia.

OOOH. Good one, Aida. I'll add onto your thought - trendy items that aren't black or grey.

High five, April.

Hah! Angie, I didn't say gray because I rather like gray But it's a low priority color for me for sure.

Attractive footwear that fits and is comfortable given my multitude of foot problems, including hallux rigidus.

Machine washable dresses that comfortable and both fit and flatter. I don't have unusual problems finding tops and skirts that fit and am more or less the same size on top and bottom so I'm not sure what the problem is other than I feel that shift/sack dresses look horrendously bad on me.

I agree about the non-black items.

Perfect white tees, curved hem with soft but not sheer fabric. Low pitch shoes that look fashionable. A demented tartan sweater, nothing 'traditional', something funky.

pants of any sort that aren't skinnies that fit me well.

Always, always shoes.

Definitely shoes - my feet are fussy, a specialty size, and narrow blister-prone heels add an additional fit issue.

But I've also been looking for the perfect classic trench coat for two years now, with no luck. The color needs to be just right to not wash out my yellow-toned medium skin. And I need a petite size, but at this point I'm ready to tailor if I find a trench in the right shade and price range.

Shoes. I wear size 9.5 , but most shoes hurt my feet badly. I usually buy shoes that I cannot wear at all. I tried wide 9.5, but they also do not fit.

Knitwear! sweaters that either skim my waist or that can be belted but not in wool, cashmere, or acrylic and with plenty of give in the arms.

Unfortunately very little. Heels that are more than 1 inch that I can walk in don't come along all the time, but I have found some. I have never found "my" leather moto but I am not sure I would wear it anyway. I have given up on button shirts that aren't very drapey.

Ivory / my white tops that aren't see-through. Black pants that fit the way I want. Or whatever thing is on my wish list at the time! Oh, and I am still searching for the perfect sun hat.

Petite blazers that are somewhat interesting and not boring. Anthro seems to be my only source thus far.

Boho-style items that are not overwhelming on petites. Again, I'm thankful for Anthro.

Petite pants and jeans that can accommodate an hourglass shape. It seems like all petite bottoms are made for a straight-up-and-down figure, which is not me! I'm tired of smashing my rear end into jeans and then have the waist gape. Argh!

Footwear that is comfortable for my fussy feet and looks great. I have found some for casual wear (Trippen and El Naturalista) but for a very dressy occasion I currently have nothing. I have to be able to dance so they need slippery soles.

Jeans and pants that are long enough and not skinny cut and of different colors to what I already own I have two pair of black pants for the last twenty years but they still fit four babies later lol but that's the only good point and still get worn also jacket and coat I've never found one I like that likes me back with long enough arms and that looks a little different so my search continues

Properly fitting dress pants. No matter what size I try on, they always do this weird "butt smile" thing and they also gape at the waistband in the back. Ugh. What's worse, they'll look fine in the store so I'll buy them, then wear them and the fabric must relax or something and the above mentioned issues develop.

Long blazers or light weight toppers that can be worn as such. Tunics. Underwear - all cotton hi leg briefs to replace (cries softly) gaps perfect ones that they changed material. Same with gaps pull over bra. Why, gap, why?!? Footwear. I recently developed a morton's neuroma. I have one pair hiking boots, one pair ariat heritage lacers and one pair dansko lucilles (not good in the icy north east right now). On the hunt, but I must have bought returned at least 10 pr snow boots/hiking boots/booties this month alone on the hunt. Oy, all I can say is please take care of your feet and wear supportive shoes and boots. The Uggs did me in!!

interesting read…..honestly my hard to find items are in part hard because you don't really know they aren't perfect until you've worn them awhile, and then, well, they can't be returned….
Socks (i wear a 6 shoe and i hate hate hate socks that are too big….) underwear , like gryffin, a like a nice cotton pair, and while i've found some i like, i'm always searching for a pair i'll love.

Trousers by far. Second would be high boots.

knitwear. Everything I own ranges from 'just alright' to 'ugh'.

Short-sleeved tees and tops. Difficult to fit for an IT.

Lately my issue isn't with finding a particular category of item but more with finding items in a style that speaks to me. This is one reason I've hit pause with my wardrobe - I don't need more of the same, but am not finding anything different that I like (for instance, interesting black sweaters).

Footwear. I don't seem to be able to find what I 'think' I want. I settle - and it's often an expensive mistake.

kkards mentioned socks. I pretty much stopped buying adult socks unless it has a small/m versus m/l sizing. I buy children's socks instead, even then they don't always work. I am always on the hunt for comfortable socks.

catseye, i haven't tried kids socks....i'll have to do this. i recently bought a pair of socks from lulu that were sized, and the heel still ended up slipping! at $14 a pair...that just kills me!

Everything? I am very tall so sleeve length, pants length and body length is almost always an issue in regular sizes - and tall sizes are stiil very few and far between. Even sport bras are problematic to find - I need adjustable straps in them and majority of them are pull-on which never works for me.

However if I need to select one it would be footwear. Between size 12, wider forefeet but not wide enough for wide sizes, inability to wear heels over 2" and NOT LIVING IN US (aka very limited online shopping options and virtually no B&M shopping options aside Long Tall Sally) - I think I have the worst combination. If any foot health problems add to this list at some point I even shudder to think what I would do then!

Affordable wide-width loafers that don't look frumpy.

Dresses (I have none. My top and bottom halves are different sizes and my waist is long)

Trousers.

Quality single-breasted, non-belted trench-style coat.

everything eh eh, my tailor is my Best friend, I'm petite, skinny and everything is too big and too baggy on me!

Trousers & jeans. Especially skinnier cuts because my thighs and calves are large.
