Thanks for the feedback!
Thistle, I'm with you--the rear view doesn't enthral me. I tried on a smaller size, (not pictured), and it worked a bit better.
Shoes? I have no idea. My first thought is a gladiator sandal, but I think that would be shortening + shortening on my already short legs. Probably not the best solution. The model shows it with a black patent leather pump.
unfrumped--You make some good points. I tried on a knit version in a different shop and didn't like it at all--I felt like I was wearing pyjamas. So woven fabric is the winner here. A possible plus is that I could potentially wear these as ankle pants. I've got short legs, and didn't realize when I first put them on that they were intended to sit like this. It wasn't until I went to mess with the hemline that I noticed the elastic and realised they were supposed to be cropped! They've been pushed up in this shot.
torontogirl--I tried them on again with a white tee and liked it better. I agree that a pointy toe heel is probably the best shoe solution here.
I've found a second set of potential slouchy pants (in a separate post...sorry, don't know how to link yet)..they lie flatter across the bottom (well, all around the waist), but don't have the trendy, relaxed silhouette. They actually look like they fall more into the "pyjama wear" trend. And a bonus (to me)--they're not black and white! So they may be a solution, too. I won't be getting both pairs.
