These all look good on you Janet - but I do see the fit problems with the Nicole Miller dress. I am not sure about tailoring but it might be worth finding out if you genuinely love it.

I wear a strapless bra sometimes and while not my most comfortable I find it fine with a tailored rather than body hugging bodice.

That gap between a party dress for someone in their 20s or early 30s and the traditional MOTB dress or suit seems to be quite large.

I think it depends on how truly fancy the wedding is . . . I like the Nicole miller but wonder if it might end up being too much for the occasion (just based on what you've shared). The one you already own is actually my favorite of the other two. I think the white down the sides is slenderizing.

I love the high low dress on you and think it is worth sewing down the lace to make it look perfect. This will be a great dress to have in your wardrobe.

I love the high low dress the best. Stunning on you. It might be worth checking out if it can be altered. I am not a fan of strapless bras either. I wonder if a built in bra is a possibility. I find a backless waist length bra most comfortable for those kinds of dresses.

SF, I wonder about a built-in bra or support could work too. If a dress top like this is structured enough, I can go without a bra, oddly enough for someone with my chest size. The gown I wore to the mayor’s inaugural ball a few months ago is an example.

I’ll take the high-low dress to the tailor for a consult, but first I’m going to show it to my niece and see what she thinks, whether it is the appropriate level of dressiness for the event and locale.

Thanks for all the feedback!

WOW! I love that black dress but in the detail photos I can see the major issues your worried about..... If only it fit a little better and the lace was sewn down.
I also really like the second blue dress, I think it suits you beautifully.

I understand your feelings about finding something more interesting than the classic sheath dress. Could you get creative with accessories with a neutral sheath?
