Ooh, both are gorgeous!

oooh this is fascinating! People have really different opinions on wearing the white/silver dress to a wedding.

My 2 cents: I would err on the side of caution unless I had time to ask the bride. Even then if she said it was ok, I'd pay attention to her reaction/body language to determine for myself.

Your new outfit looks fabulous =) Have fun!!

Wow, both outfits are killer! I agree with LauraN - err on the side of caution. I remember two people wore white dresses to my wedding. It wasn't a huge deal to me but I remember hearing the buzz around me - "who's that girl in the white dress, doesn't she know she's not supposed to wear white etc."

wow - you did such a fab job coordinating both outfits! i am in love with the sack dress! what great detail - and for only $29?!? awesome find!

i have considered wearing a white dress to weddings in the past, though i typically considered wearing it with a bright cardigan and belt. luckily, i have the same dress in hot pink, so i just swap out the potentially-offending frock and off i go!

as an upcoming bride, i can say with some certainty that i would be a bit offended if someone wore a white dress to my wedding. as ele said, some brides (me included!) would feel like it's a bit of a slap in the face. hehe, i try to keep a tight rein on my bridezilla-ness, but nobody better be wearing white on my wedding day!

Laura, I've been following this thread with interest. My initial reaction was to err on the side of caution, also. That said, you look so beautiful in both outfits! You must find an occasion to wear that white and silver dress if you decide not to wear it to the wedding. I'm thinking it would make a fabulous New Year's Eve outfit. Make plans to attend the biggest party in town and I can guarantee that you'll be the belle of the ball!

Go for it. Love the look!

Who is that little angel in the background of your picture?

The little cherub in the first photo is my 3-year-old son. He was wearing his underwear and trying on one of my red high heels during the photo session. The heels are so high that he was going up and down as he walked, saying "I'm riding the wave, Mommy!"

He's adorable. You're a lucky Mommy!
