Thanks everyone. Got it re the opaque tights. Thing is, anything slightly sheer would be too dressy for it, and anything like cable knit or fleece-lined tights would look too heavy somehow.
Aside from the occasional T-shirt (including patterned as some have suggested here), I guess I’ll keep it for warm weather, like we were lucky to have recently, when I was sandal-shopping.
Unfrumped, this is a bit longer than I usually wear shorts.
